This is my first poem to post on here. I wrote it for the newsletter of the 4-H club(Friendship 4-H.) I am president of. I would love to hear what you think of it. Thank, redneckred

The 'Real' Reason For 4-H.

Friendship 4-H
Is a wonderful club
It's funner than a party
Or even a pub.

When you join 4-H
There's so much you can do
Come to meetings, play games,
Eat a cookie or two.

But what is most useful
Is the money you make.
If you just get to workin'
You'll get quite a take.

Here are some ways
If you need them my friend
Enter stuff in the fair
Oh, the money they'll send

Enter rabbits and cattle
Or even a dog,
A horse and three chickens
And then grab a hog.

If you haven't any animals
A picture is fine,
Nobody will blame you
If you don't own a swine.

If all this is too hard,
If it's just too much work
Do a dance up on stage
Or just go bazerk.

But 4-H ain't just for cash
No, thats not the reason.
Why if this was read at the court house
They'd be callin' it treason!

Here's what 4-H stands for
Just a small chart;
Service for the hands,
Loyalty for the heart,

Thinking for the head,
Better living for the heath,
But how does it hurt
To be rolling in the weath?

I am the president
So what I say goes
You'll be rich from your noggin
right down to your toes.

*This poem was written in all light heartness and is not to be taken too seriously. ;)

HAhahah, your poem made me laugh in some parts, and it also made me realize the perks of being in a club or a team!! your poem is very light and your rhyme and rhythm is just amazing, it played like a song in my head. This is my favorite part!!

When you join 4-H
There's so much you can do
Come to meetings, play games,
Eat a cookie or two.

I loved reading your poem!!

Top notch poem! I think it is a wonderfully goofy poem and is a great way to remind us 4-Hers not to take our selfs to seriously. :)
favorite verse;
Thinking for the head
Better living fot the heath
But how does it hurt
To be rolling in the weath?

Makes me smile every time I read it.
Keep up the great writing. Can't wait to see what you post next.

Oh my word, Red! Now I simply *have* to join ya'lls 4-H! My cousin, also known as our pastor's youngest daughter, is sitting next to me, and we were both laughing so hard! We are ashamed that we don't own swine... We want to read more, so post A.S.A.P, ok? ;)

It isn't schizophrenia when you write about the voices in your head and get it published. That's talent.
