I actually drew this before I even got out of bed yesterday xP I just reached over for some paper and pencils and started drawing lol. So this is a random character I'm starting to like a lot, kinda makes me want to start a novel about him or something ^_^ I edited the pencil version later on GIMP, so please let me know which one you like better. Wow. Ok so, this is really awesome. ^-^ I'm a little bit of an artist myself, and I can honestly say you have some really great line quality. You kept everything very lose and free flowing. And for having drawn this when you first wake up in the morning, you must have some mad skills my friend. I really think the proportions are very on key for this style drawing. Is it leaning more toward manga? Anime? I think the overall feel of the first original image is very smooth looking. A bit light as far as the final lines go, but still beautiful.
The second image looks really great two. I don't think I'd be able to choose between the two because they each look great in thier own ways. The second is a bit more bold and stands out with a punch. Considering you used computer software to touch it up and brighten the image, I think it turned out very well. It almost looks like ink from a ballpoint pen. I have a brother who can draw pictures with that kind of inky texture in real life, so I can see the similarity. It looks very clean and cool.
Nice job on both pictures! The original is a very sound drawing. It sort of has it's own personality, too. I know exactly what you mean when you say you drew this and it made you sort of think about developing a story around him, making him into a real character. I do the exact same thing! Except most of the times it's the other way around, where I have a character I mind then I write up a few starting chapters and all of a sudden get the inspiration to try and draw my character out. It sort of begins to take on a life of it's own at that point. xD
But anyway, I just wanted to say great job, and I think these are truly awesome sketches, both the original and the touched up image. Keep up the great work with drawing and all!
Hellooo xXTheBlackSheepXx!! =) Here I am to review your work again! Okay so I want to start off with saying that these are nice drawings..I like the last version better, because of the colors in it and because his eyes are a lot sharper in it. They look more ninja-ish and if he'd be real and he'd be looking at me like that I would be scared. XD And I imagine people should be scared when they look into a ninja his eyes, so congratulations on that! XD I really like his hair too and his facial expression (also very scary..which is good) And now the nitpicks! (you don't have to listen to these really because it's just my opinion ) -His left arm looks just a little bit too big when you compare it to the right one. And I think it would look better if you made the right sleeve as long as the other one, but maybe that's just me =) -So this is my last nitpick! I promise! XD It kind of looks like he has boobs because they are a little bit too low placed. But that's what I think really, so maybe it's just me.
But other than those little thingies I really loved this drawing. You really have talent! And I really love those eyes XD Great work! Keep drawing awesome drawings! -qaralynn-

Let me just start off by saying that I am no artist. I can draw a mean stick figure, and that's about it. That doesn't mean that I don't know anything about art, though. This drawing is quite good. You need to watch your dimensions around chest area. It can be particularly difficult to do shadows there, especially on a guy. Personally, I think the sketch version looks better. The penciled, black-and-white version looks a lot grittier. I'm not quite sure if that's what you were going for, as it makes him look like a "hard-boiled ninja on a mission". The sketch makes him seem a lot more fresh, and like a ninja with a couple missions under his belt, rather than a hard lifetime of them. The scarf was very well done. Cloth can be particularly difficult, especially if you're not quite sure where it ends or begins, and you handled that perfectly. Overall, the piece was well-constructed. Just keep an eye on those dimensions, and decide what sort of character it is before you edit it.
