Birds on Branches

This took me forever. The drawing was easy but the coloring has just taken too much time, for birds usually have that super detailed colored body. That is my first time to draw birds but personally I didn't enjoy it much. Birds are so boring to colour. I drew that one as a request from my mom and she loved it. I am glad she did.
Artists, I need your reviews, criticisms are welcome of course!


I have tried to edit it as much as possible, however, still the pencil colors appear too light unlike the original.

Oh, I really love this. The color choices go well together, and the coloring itself is beautiful (of course, this is coming from someone with the coloring skills of a two year old). Even from someone else, I think it's great. Perhaps the birds body is a tad long? I'm not sure.

Did you use a reference?

This is really good. My suggestion would be to blend the colors better. Oh, and make all of your pencil marks going the same direction. Unless you wanted it to look exactly like then, then it is perfect!

Oh I am sorry I haven't mentioned that I had used a reference. I found a picture on Google images taken by an unknown photographer. It just gave me inspiration. Thanks for your reviews. : )

You are like, really, really good I think but I'm not an artist so I guess my opinion doesn't matter much haha. I love, love, love birds. You picture's really pretty it kind of looks like Chinese or something to me. It's really beautiful.
