“Callie?”
Callie slowly opened her eyes to see Grey staring at her.
“The princess finally awakens. Get up, it’s time to go beat some people up.” He laughed at his own joke, and left. Callie blinked in the bright light, but got up anyways. “Oh, and by the way, we’re leaving in about thirty seconds.” Grey shouted from the other side of the door.
Callie’s eyes widened and she hurriedly began to get dressed and load her belt with weapons.
Five minutes later, she was standing in front of her wall mirror, making sure she had everything. She wore a skin-tight black t-shirt and a pair of black pants. A belt around her waist held her Blazen swords, throwing knifes, a couple of grenades, and her hover board detector and controller.
Seeing that she had everything, Callie darted out of her room and down the hall. As she was running, she heard her stomach growl. ‘I’ll have to just grab something to eat along the way.’ She thought. She turned into the kitchen, then stared very confused.
“What are you guys doing here?” She shouted at Grey, Gen, Steven, and Caron, all sitting around a table, in their pajamas, and eating eggs.
“Eating breakfast?” Caron said as if it were obvious.
Steven and Grey burst out laughing. Callie stood there for a second, and then stomped over to them and glared. “What time is it?” she asked Caron.
“Uhh…11:00, PM, of course. Why?”
“Because Grey here woke me up and told me we were leaving in thirty seconds.”
Grey and Steven gave another generous round of laughter, but quieted when they saw Callie’s face. She turned away from them and sat down on the opposite side of the table.
Turning towards Caron, she began to talk to her about random stuff like the raid and what Caron was eating.
“So, you’re not mad?” Steven asked nervously.
Callie turned to Steven and Grey. She smiled as she said “No I’m not mad. Why would I be mad? All you did was wake me up and made me rush in getting ready. What’s there to be mad about?” Suddenly, Steven jumped up with a shout of pain.
“Hey! Why’d you kick me?” Steven shouted angrily at Callie, gripping his knee.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Callie said, obviously trying to hold back a smile as she turned back to Caron.
“Then why didn’t you kick him, too?” Steven asked in frustration.
“Because you were obviously the one who planned the prank and you probably black-mailed Grey into helping.” Callie said, not even trying to hold back her smile anymore.
“General!” Steven whined.
Gen put whatever file he was looking at higher and ignored him. Callie guessed he was smiling behind his papers.
Steven sat down, grumbling as Grey and Callie smiled broadly.
“So, Gen, what’re you reading?” Callie asked.
“Nothing really, just a rundown of some of the guys we’ll be attacking tonight.”
“Really? Anything interesting?” Callie tried to look excitedly over the wall of files the general was looking at.
He laid it flat on the table. There were several papers; birth certificates, driving license, pedigree chart, Blazen mark. What caught Callie’s eye was his picture. It featured a smiling, half-bald man wearing a suit and bow-tie. Underneath the picture, the name, “John Scarson” was written in big letters. He seemed completely mediocre.
“What’s so special about him?” Callie asked, sounding very disappointed.
“First off, he’s level sixteen. Second off, he’s third in command at the Krag. And third, well, actually, there isn’t a third.” Gen said.
Callie started looking through his file. After a minute, she looked up at Gen and said, “This file doesn’t have his power in it.”
“No it doesn’t.”
“Why not?”
General shrugged.
Callie whistled in excitement. “Boy is he going to be fun to fight. Level sixteen and we don’t even know his capability. Sweet.”
They all sat in silence far a moment, until the silence was broken by Grey, Steven, and Callie all yelling “I call him!”
“Ha! I called him first.” Grey said smiling broadly at his success.
“You guys are so weird.” Caron said taking a drink of her coffee.
Steven grumbled, “Is there anybody else that would be any fun?”
“Actually, yes. There’s this lady.” Gen laid another file across the table. This featured a picture of a long, black-haired woman, which was glaring out of the picture, labeled as “Serra Clark”. Callie heard a choking noise and looked up to see Steven choking on his cup of soda.
“What’s your problem?” She said, raising an eyebrow.
“Well, she’s hot.” Grey said matter-of-factly, as if that was enough explanation. Steven nodded vigorously.
“What’s her power?” Callie asked, ignoring Steven and Grey.
“Something to do with spiders. The file’s not very specific about that.”
“Fun. I call her!” Callie’s hand flew into the air.
General sighed, staring at the two boys. “That may be for the best. I don’t think these two would go full strength on her if they had to.”
Life is to be lived, not survived.

I love the idea behind this, really imaginative. You've started to define the roles and relationships between the characters really effectively. I'm hoping this'll be a bit like future gladiators meets Avatar the last airbender, but with swords! Only thing I can say ( and I probably do this too) is at times there's a bit too much action put in between dialogue, making it a tad confusing to keep track of, but hey maybe that's just me!
