Hello, people! :)

Hey, I'm new here My name is Andrea, and I was looking for a community of writers where I might be able to get some feedback about my writing, especially on a novel I'm working on. (Any tips or things I should know to get started? I've never posted my work online before.) My genre is typically young adult and sci-fi/fantasy, but I love almost anything and try to get a lot of variety. I'm really interested in getting published, so anything I can learn about that here would be welcome too. Right now, though, my main focus is to finish this book (my second complete novel) and make it as good as it can be.

Oooh, I love fantasy and sci-fi. It's my favorite genre to read! I also write what I can of it as well. In fact, it's really hard for me to write a story and not throw in a bit of magical something into it. Crazy, right?!

YWS is certainly the place to get some feedback on your writing. Everyone's more than willing to read your work and help you out! They're extremely wonderful help. Posting your work is nerve-wracking at first, but you eventually get the hang of it. Most publishers probably won't mind that you've posted them here either; however, there's an easy way to take down your work if you plan to send the final product to a publisher that requires it be taken down.

With that said, you've already completed a novel! Are you planning to send it to a bunch of publishers? If so, good luck!

Do you do anything outside of writing then? Music or sports? Something entirely different? You can probably find a Club here (found on the navigation bar above) which suits your interests, and you can meet people to help you out. There's even a club for fantasy writers if you wanted to join!

Hi, Jabber! Thanks so much for the advice. Hopefully I can post some stuff soon. My first novel is actually not going anywhere soon, because it's not exactly my best work.. The one I'm working on now looks a little more promising though. We'll see where it takes me! I don't really do sports, but I *love* music!! When I'm not doing something related to writing, it's usually related to music.
