Somewhere Only Harry Knows (very small HP spoilers)

The swimming across an empty land has to do with the part when Harry and Voldemort both drop their wands in the movie, so they both crawl on the ground and it looks like he's swimming. Yeah.

I swam across an empty land.
I knew the castle like the back of my hand.
I felt Tom Riddle in my forehead.
Sat underneath the staircase, on my bed.

Oh Dumbledore, where have you gone?
We’re camping in the forest. Something is wrong.
Please tell me how we’re supposed to win.
We’re getting tired and we need somewhere to begin.

I flew into an ugly tree.
I felt the branches of it trying to kill me.
Is this the school I’ll always love?
The final struggle Jo was dreaming of…

I liked this a lot. It seems that a vast majority of the population is hooked on Harry Potter right now =] So its nice that you're getting into the spirit with it! Very nicely done =]

This had great rhyme in the beginning, but a lot of the time is was kind of random and seemed very rushed... Let me give you some examples...

First line: Odd. Second line: Nobody calls Voldemort 'Tom'. Third line: You don't need it, but without it the flow would be a bit interrupted.

Just all very weird.

Anyways, I think you did an ok job with portraying Harry-Potter-Desperation.

It was a parody of a song. "Somewhere Only We Know" by Keane. If you listen to the song and look at the lyrics and stuff, it makes perfect sense.

This is supposed to be in Harry's POV, and even though he never called him Tom in the books, he calls him Tom in the movie at the end.

So. Yeah. I guess it does look weird just to be a normal poem.

well...ill get straight to it-
with all do respect, this was not good. i understand that it was suppose to be a parody--but that made it seem like you were making fun of the series. you seem like you just quoting random facts about it and putting them in to fit the position of the lyrics in the song. its not well done. you genuinely came across as someone who dislikes Harry Potter and is just trying to get a laugh. personally, i dont think that any true fan would relate the series to a song parody. its kind of pathetic. i would understand writing peotry about Harry Potter because i have done so, but really? this isnt poetry or anything relatable to poetry. i find it quite difficult to believe that youre a fan if this was all you could come up with. if anything, this should be posted under lyrics. because at least then it would be more understandable. reading through this the first time and not being fimiliar with the song or your intentions when writing this, all i could think about was the random repetitiveness and the fact that a poem had a chorus. i do think that you should change the forum in which it is located if you choose to leave it as is.
