Years passed and no one had heard of Hannah. She soon was forgotten by everyone except her parents. They lived a sad life waking up every day hoping they’ll find her and all this would just disappear, but their hope soon faded away. They grew old and tired from the overstress. People pitied them and persuaded them to move on. They felt like they must as there was nothing they can do.
There was something no one knew. Hannah lived in a house far away with a family she thought was hers. She was six years old now and unusually very independent. This was because of her mother and brother, who were very cruel on her. Hannah would always do her best to please them; hoping they’d treat her better then, but they had no feelings. On the contrary Hannah’s father was nice, but his kindness wasn’t enough. Hannah grew and with her grew the pain, but she soon learned to live with it.
At the age of thirteen, Hannah started to have strange dreams. You see, when one wants something so badly, one dreams of it, and in Hannah’s case, there was so much she wanted. Therefore she had plenty of dreams. She dreamt mostly of a world where everything was possible and where no creature hated the other - a world of happiness.
After some time, Hannah felt like telling her father about these dreams, so one day she gathered her thoughts and was ready to say. Hannah slowly walked up to her father and said: “Dad, I’ve been having these dreams for a while now. In my dream I see wonders and it feels so real, yet none of it happens. What do you think it means?” While Hannah was telling her father about her dreams, her father said nothing, but he looked annoyed as if he was thinking ’what the hell is wrong with her?!”
The look was clear, so Hannah went away. She regretted telling him and promised to herself that she wouldn’t try to do that again. If only someone cared, but there was a friend. Her best friend’s name was Mary. Mary was about her age, she had hazel eyes and red hair. There were also some freckles on her face and arms.
Hannah thought several times before telling her and just as she was ready to say, she would change her mind. There was no use, it was strange though. It was as if her dreams were a secret meant to be hidden from all.
“Two days till my birthday. Should I do it? “Hannah asked herself. Hannah had been planning so long for this day, but did she have the guts to do it? She knew for sure that the second she steps out of the door there will be no return.
Many thoughts raced through her mind as it was time. She pushed them away and convinced herself that this was the best she could do. Hannah got a grip and on the tip of her nerves she took her bag and jumped out of her window. She did it, she got out! Now there was no return.
Her plan was to stay at Mary’s house. She hoped that Mary’s family would feel bad for her and help her either by letting her stay at their house or by getting her a job and a place to live.
Hannah was now on her way to Mary’s. She walked behind the bushes so as to not be seen. Mary’s house was a few blocks away, but she had barely got away from her house when it started to rain. “Oh great!” she thought.
However she continued to walk, believing that nothing will stop her. She was nearly there when she saw her parents standing on Mary’s doorstep. “Oh no!” she thought. “What am I going to do now?!”
Hannah tried to get closer so that she’d hear what they were saying, so she crawled behind the bushes and then behind a tree. She knew for sure what they were talking about, but she wanted to know what Mary would say.
Now before you know what happened, you must always remember that friends want what is best for you, even if you don’t want it.
“I’m sorry Mr. Smith, but I haven’t seen her anywhere. Maybe she’s out somewhere. Wait isn’t that her?” Mary said.
“Where?”
“Over there behind that tree.”
Hannah froze. What now? The first thing that jumped to her mind was ‘run!’.
Hannah ran and her –fake- father ran after her, some other men also joined. There was tension and there was fear, but all she could do was run into the woods which were behind the houses. Hannah ran with all her might, she ran and ran and they just kept running after her.
It was raining very hard by now and the woods were so dark except for the light of the moon. Hannah was running so hard and her heart beat so fast she could almost hear it.
The woods were now descending, it was probably a hill. Hannah was running down like crazy. She was doing well until she looked behind her, there was no one in sight, but she lost focus and tripped over something. She was rolling down the hill at very high speed and the rain just made it worse.
A few seconds later and she felt her head hit something, there was sharp pain then the world just faded away. She had fainted.
