I peeked out of the window of the airplane,
Looking down at England but in vain.
I tried my best to face the truth,
Because I may be there through the rest of my youth.
The place where I had lived and grown,
'I am leaving' was all, I could moan.
I did not want to move away from my home,
From friends and family who were well known.
The endless journey was a quiet one,
I spent most of the time staring at the sun.
As the plane lowered and landed,
I felt as if I had been left stranded.
I believed that I had left everything,
All the goodness life could bring.
I especially felt the loss of my friends,
Who were with me until the very end.
Friends are their to love you,
To help and guide you through.
Always there, through good and bad,
When you’re happy and when you’re sad.
My best friends Katie, Meaghan and Monique,
In every way they each were unique.
All those times we played in the sun,
Those days were special and really fun.
But now I am in this new place,
With lots of new people to face.
I started to wonder how I’ll make friends here,
As my life in Waalre was drawing near.
What about school will it be harder or easier?
If the teacher is strict I’ll try hard to please her.
As I think of how I’ll try,
I try really hard not to cry.
'But what was I worried about' I say through smiles,
Which you can see for miles and miles.
Because the greatest friends I have made,
This wouldn’t have happened if in England I had stayed.
Anastasia, Aysan and Ayano,
Who all can cleverly play the piano!
They helped me through the day at school,
I began to feel oh so cool!
Friends in England, Holland or Spain,
In my heart they will always remain.
With email I can keep in touch,
With all my friends I love so much!
Looking down at England but in vain.
I tried my best to face the truth,
Because I may be there through the rest of my youth.
