I just read an article in one of my magazine subscriptions that I got today, profiling a Chinese essayist, novelist, and blogger, named Han Han. His name is actually his father's old pen name, which I think is really cool.
He dropped out of school around seventh grade because he was distracted by a novel he was writing, and went on to publish it with wild success. He writes angst-filled blogs about current events in China. To quote the article:Five years ago, Han started blogging, and his focus took an unmistakable turn toward some of China’s most sensitive matters: Party corruption, censorship, the exploitation of young workers, pollution, the gap between the rich and the poor.
The above link leads to a site that translates many of his blog posts into English, including one's censored and removed by the Chinese government. I find it interesting to read, giving a bit of an inside look into another country, and figured I'd share it, see what you guys thought.
