"Where's Viljo? He's supposed to be here and ready to go," Johan Constantin, the coach of the Wolverines Football team, asked. He cast around, looking for their start quarterback.
"He's over there, coach, and I don't think he's going to be playing in the game," Jamil Aubin reported, gesturing with his thumb and pointing over his shoulder.
"Did he get food poisoning or something?" Johan asked. He turned around and blinked in shock.
"Or something," Jamil agreed. He turned back to look at the star quarterback Torben Viljo, who was currently trapped in an enormous bottle.
"What on earth?" Johan clamped his jaw shut as he continued to stare at Torben. "How on earth is that possible?"
"I don't know, Coach, all of the sudden I turned around and there he was," Jamil said.
"How can we play with our quarterback stuck in a huge bottle?" Johan demanded. He ran over and pounded on the glass.
Torben didn't seem to notice them, busy knitting a scarf while watching tv. Johan continued to pound on the bottle, but it didn't seem to make a difference.
"It's no use, no matter what we do, we can't get through to him," Jamil said. "I've got one of the guys out trying to find something to break the glass with."
"I want to know how this happened, though, I mean, how did he get in there in the first place?" Johan looked at the neck of the bottle, which no grown man could have fit through. A kid, maybe, but even that was doubtful. Yet, Torben, one of their biggest players, was sitting in a rocking chair and knitting.
"Why is he knitting and watching soap operas?" Tore Nithya asked as he peered into the bottle. "Is that what he usually does with his spare time?"
"I thought that he would be manlier than that, but I guess this shows that you never know about someone," Daniel Rurik replied.
"What are you all staring at? Shouldn't you be trying to free our quarterback so that we can play the game?" Johan asked.
"But he's just getting to the good part," Daniel said. "I mean, it's taken forever for Marie to fall in love with Tony and now they're getting married."
"This really does show that you never know about someone," Jamil said as he looked at Daniel.
"Oh, now he's feeding the fish," Tore said. "It looks like he takes very good care of them."
"Fish?" Johan peered into the bottle. "I don't remember seeing any fish in there."
"They're off to the side, but it looks like you can turn the rocking chair around and watch them," Daniel said.
"And now he's starting to exercise," Tore pointed out. "I suppose that he has to keep his waistline in shape."
"What waistline? He should already be in shape, in fact, he should be warmed up and ready to play." Johan gripped his hair in frustration. "And what's with the rest of you? Forget about Viljo and get the other quarterback to play in his stead."
"All right, then," Jamil said before jogging off.
"Aw, this was just starting to get fun," Tore complained. Still, he and Daniel followed after Jamil to start the game.
Johan gave his star quarterback one last look before shaking his head. "I'm not sure I even want to know by this point." Johan left the bottled football player behind and went to go do his job.
