Drawing Request for Mickixoxo

I had fun with this project, even though it took me ages x) Lovely Micki asked if I could draw some characters from her novel, just to see how I had them pictured.

I decided to take a scene from chapter 2, shortly after she arrives in the new planet. She's scared, injured, and just when it looks like she's about to lose this guy finds her, picks her up, and carries her to his house. This scene definitely had the most magic to me, so I decided to draw it with lots of color and focus on the background.

Sorry about how the characters turned out, they totally don't match your description x) The girl's blond instead of brunette, but I wanted her to glow in this pic. whoops. xP

Woah! This is really good. The only ifs I have are with the mans pants and shoes. The um... manly area is a bit funny, haha. And the shoes could use a bit more detail. Other than that this is really gorgeous =]

I've been reading the novel, and Micki is going to be sooooooo happy.
I don't have any critiques, but I wanted to say that (this is going to sound awkward) when you do requests, they never seem to turn out as well as your usual drawings. This is totally an exception!! Maybe it's because you know Micki and it's kinda personal, but I looooooove this piece and think it turned out... umm... what's the phrase? Super-special-awesome!! (hehe, Yu-Gi-Oh abridged reference, sorry).

Love love love it! XD Even though Shyla doesn't exactly look like her description with he hair, I think Callum looks spot on! XD Looooove itttt! XD Now my nitpicks:

Okay, so I think there are three things that you should watch out on with Callum. First, his expression. It's perfectly perfect and amazing! ... If he was depressed and crying. An easy tweak of the eyebrows could fix that right away. Second, the... crotch *pardon* is awkward. Folds and wrinkles are definitely one of the hardest finishing touches and there's not really much you can do about it... I would suggest thinking about the position of the body and the legs and then place the wrinkles accordingly. Amother thing you could probably do is look at a few pictures *anime would probably be most helpful* and look at where the professionals would put the wrinkles in the pants. (In my opinion, pant wrinkles are the hardest XP)

The third would be the shoes. They look kind of... too cartoon-y in my opinion. Kind of the way a little kid would draw boots on a cartoon, very bulky and almost box like. This could also be fixed by looking at the way others draw shoes or, possibly, it could even be fixed or upgraded by adding details like the rubber bottom and the heals (even on men's shoes, heals are slightly more elevated than the ball of the foot)

And then lastly, Shyla's hand/arm is also awkward looking. The hand, firstly, looks like it's missing a finger (although I can kind of see the fifth finger, but it's kind of hidden and doesn't seem to be there) so just make the fingers more clear next time. (this can also be fixed by studying fingers) and then the arm just looks a little bulky, but it's not really that big of a deal :3

Once again, the hair is my favorite part! X3 love love love your hair. It's always so flowy! ;D I just wanna run my fingers through it and mess it up!! XD I also very much like Shyla's feet. They are perfect! XD
