So i've been working on this one for awhile now. My uncle wanted me to draw something for him, saying he wanted something a little country but other than that he gave me free reign of the entire creative process. At first it was gonna be a portrait of a cowboy, and then I drew a couple of countryside landscapes but those didn't seem too right. So I came up with this concept and...

I was thinking of putting some sort of script but I'm not too sure of what to put. I was thinking something from John Wayne or Clint Eastwood but I think I might leave it the way it is n_n

Oooh, I really like this. You're a great artist! I think the roses were definitely a nice touch. It makes it look very poetic :) I think a script would look good, something poetic and still Western-y sounding . . . hmm . . . I suggest looking up stuff from 'True Grit'. That's Western and still sounds good.
I think the rose on the bottom/left is too close to the skull. It's kind of smothering it and hiding it, and the skull is the focal point and I think it's taking away from that a little bit.
Hope this helped!

Nice, you really made a really great country themed work! In general i think its quite fantastic, the juxtaposition of skull and the flowers does create a sort of poetic sort of feel. You made the right decision to leave out the script it would have been a little to much. Right now it is nice and simple.

Positive: The colors are very nice. Nice composition

Negatives: Not many negatives, but over all the balance could be fixed up, the eyes looks rather unbalanced. You have covered the right eye with a rose but it really makes the eye look uneven, I suggest using a ruler or stepping back and having a look, to try and balance it out a little more.

Also more detail over all could make this already fantastic work into something great, like tiny crack line fractures, or more tone ( although the tone is already quite good).

Great work! keep it up

Yeah this is reeeealy good :D I like how you draw skulls, you had that other drawing of the skeleton guy that I really liked :D
gorgeous shading, it's very subtle on the bones, which is great, and colorful and vivid on the roses. I'm glad you zoomed up so we could see the awesome detail.
I was never able to draw flowers, but yours are pretty much perfect. They look all soft and stuff x)
The only picky comments I have would be that the paper got a little smeared by the lead on your hand, it's a little noticeable down in the bottom right corner where the white paper is.
Second would be that the left eye looks much bigger than the right, but that's just because the right is covered up by the rose. I actually would not have hid the face like that, but added the flowers either off to the side or behind the skull in a background.
Third, I have no idea how the mouth/chin area is supposed to look, but it doesn't seem symmetrical to me. Totally ignore me because I have no idea whatsoever on how to draw these x)
So that's all for the nitpicks! I would definitely add a quote in the bottom right portion in black ink! :D Something western.
Maybe you could add a dusty brown hint to the bones? That's just me thinking.
Anyways, loved this!! Keep on drawing! I hope this helped :D

I absolutely love this! I think the smudges add a nice textured background effect, and the rose overlapping the skull adds some nice layering, in my opinion. The white skull is beautiful - I could never pull off that kind of detail or shading! The roses are beautiful and add some nice color... basically the whole thing is wonderful, in my opinion!

I really like your drawing! I love the roses the most. The colors on the roses give the skull a layering look and the background looks very good with the overall drawing! Awesome job and keep it up!

How can you draw roses so good?
They're freakin awesome.

My roses all suck. They don't even look like roses, more like crumpled pieces of scrap paper. Ha.

Anyway, this is a really awesome drawing, I like it. :)
