Cupcakes and the Moon

Hello everyone! I haven't posted anything for the past few days so I decided to post some of my new photos. I took this one on my niece's birthday, this are well-made cupcakes, I have to congratulate the person who made it. I didn't taste it because I have a mild OCD for taking photos of food, I don't seem to like eating food that I take photos of. This is a special treat for Persephoneia and Solvy. See what I did thar? 8D



Whenever I look at the moon, I always remember this one part in this 1960's film where this guy says something corny to this girl. It's a nice movie though, I'd love to watch it. I messed up on the quotations, the name of the guy is actually Stewart not "Steward". XD

Hey VitaminCakes I think I only have praise for these. They are much better than anything I could do anyway! In the first photo you had a blueish background. How did you get that? Did you add it in when you edited or was it there already. I only ask because even if I can get a good shot, the background in mine is always just as attention drawing as my focus of the picture. I also seem never to be able to get a clean background. There is always something lurking in the shadows. :p Also what editing program do you use? I have probably asked you this a lot, but I forget. XD

As for the second photo, I don't like it half as much as the first one. Moons have always been slightly boring to me, but I congratulate you, because whenever I take pictures of the sky everything looks so small, and the moon in this isn't overly so. But I still might have cropped it just a bit more so there is less black space. I also am wondering where all the stars went!

I don't really have any advice...

P.S. When I saw that you wrote 'VitaminCakes' on the first photo it made me laugh because it made you seem like you were calling the cupcakes vitamincakes.. but I think I am tired. : )

Thanks Calli! I use Picnik was my edittng program because it's simple and straight-forward without all the complex and complicated features you'd see on Photoshop. I took the shot of those cupcakes on the car while it was moving, so the background was kinda dark, I'll admit it was a mistake taking this shot on a car, I should have taken it with a sunny and warm background. Thanks for yours great review, I'll be sure to keep those in mind.

I love these photos!!! My favourite one is the cupcake one. Although, that could have something to do with the fact I love cupcakes..... That is all I have to say. Keep up the great photography!

Photo number one:
I don't want to disrespect half the reviews, but I actually like the dark background. I think it makes the bright colors of the cupcakes stand out because of the contrast between the dark and the light. If it had a bright background it would be harder to see the cakes, so in my opinion you shouldn't change that, it looks good the way it is! My other nitpick is, some of the cupcakes are at a weird angle in comparison to the others. You might need to crop it a bit because it stands out a lot. Apart from that, this photo is really good. I love the cupcakes, they look absolutely delicious. Overall, this is a really good photo.

Photo number two:
Sorry, but you have just become another member of the moon photographers club. Everyone takes pictures of the moon and to be honest it does get a little tedious looking at pictures of moons. But, this is actually a good picture if I put aside the fact that it is of the moon. I has a really nice pattern on the moon and you have captured it really well because it is nice and big and it doesn't look like a tiny speck like it usually turns out for a lot of people. I also like the quote that you put on the picture, it matches the picture nicely!

Overall:
Overall these are really good, quality photos that I liked looking at. My favorite one out of the two would have to be the photo of the cupcakes. It is nice and happy and it is the kind of thing that people look at and get hunger pangs so you have successfully made me hungry. I didn't have any problems with the other picture I just think you can be a bit more inventive than that. Keep on snapping these are really neat and you have a lot of talent. Hi there! For the first picture, well, I can't see the photo since it says X image. Oh well, I think it would've looked great anyways! For the second photo, the quote captivated my interests! The moon looks so beautiful, and the font is beautiful too! I love the different shades of black and dark blue in the background of the moon, it makes the moon glow more. Awesome job and keep it up! Plus, the title looked pleasing

This is the second bit of photography I've seen from you, and you're fantastic. The angle of the cupcakes is really quite brilliant. And the moon is perfect too, usually its hard to get that kind of image, but its awesome. Great work Vit!

I love both of these pictures, but the moon one in particular, the angle is just great. Try and try I have to get a good picture of the moon, but for some reason I just can't do it. The cupcakes look super yummy, and I really like the angle for it too. Hope to see more great pictures from you. ^-^

Ohhh I love these pictures. You have excellent use of color and layout. These are very beautiful. Nothing to change. My faveriote was the first one, because I'm not one for putting writing under a picture. But both of them are very beautiful. Your an amazing photographer.

I love the first photo. You did a great job with the fading and the focus and everything. I personally love the dark background. I really can't complain.

As for the second photo, I can't believe you actually got a photo of the moon to come out! Do you use film or digital? I'm a film fan personally and I don't think I've ever gotten good photo of the moon. Also, "It's a Wonderful Life" is a 1946 movie. I love George Bailey and I'm so glad you chose that quote for the photo.
