Do you need more Maniacs? I could write two characters if you want.

Profile: Maniac
Name: Octavian Johnson
Age (20+): 27
Gender: Male
Proffesion before apocalypse: Artist/Gravedigger
Starting Weapon: Iron Shovel
Local or Outsider: Outsider
History: Octavian stumbled into town ten years ago, penniless and insane. The local vicar took pity on him and gave him shelter in the church's graveyard where he became the resident caretaker. He suffers from Multiple Personality Disorder and currently has four alternate personalities-
Windle - Mean and cunning, don't turn your back on him. Octavian develops a limp under this personality.
Lady Godiva - Octavian's feminine side. Speaks with an odd accent. cool and scientific, she's a surprising side to Octavian.
Octavian himself - A penniless artist driven to insanity by something in his past. He is cowardly and meek, cowering from the rest of the world inside his head. Yet, his artwork reveals surprising beauty.
Mister Carcer - This personality didn't come to the fore until the zombie apocalypse hit. Carcer reveals all of Octavian's pent up anger and destructiveness. Playful and savage, he is eager to take the world to hell. A stone cold killer with brains, he is the Hyde to Octavian's Jekyl, and when he wants dominance of the body, Octavian can't always hold back...

What made you snap: Octavian snapped a long time back. Perhaps some backstory will be made evident later in the storybook..
Why your in Marathon: Nowhere else to go

(We're allowed to start right? Oh, and the asian guy was just an NPC to set the death and destruction mood)

Seal Brooks- North 3rd Street

The hum of my motorbike was the only familiar thing in the world anymore. In the distance, plumes of smoke sprouted from the flaming ruins of the gas station. The insatiable moaning of dozens of undead surrounded my senses, coupled with the gruesome visage of decaying corpses. Screams rose like the surges of the tide, before their creators were silenced by the wrath of the hungry.

I pulled a tight turn on the left towards Captain Shepard Inn where drunken patrons closely resembled their undead counterparts. Reaching nigh on 80 mph, I hit the brakes outside French Company Grocery, with a plan to grab some supplies. Every zombie movie ever ran through my mind: what I needed was canned food and lots of water. The storekeeper, an old asian man started screaming at me, but I couldn't register a word.

What did get my attention is that he had a revolver in one hand, and was pointing it at me.

"Listen, buddy.. I'm not the one you should be using that on" I said in what I hope was a calming tone. He looked me over than lowered the gun.. before a car swerved in through the window and hit him square on. The gun flew from his hands and discharged in one of the aisles.

The driver stumbled out, blood pouring from his brow and he collapsed on the floor. I blinked once, trying to wrap my head around the situation, before scrambling into the aisle and picking up the gun. I raced into the cooler, grabbed a bottle of water and ran back to the driver. He had a mustache and greased down hair and grey pinstripe suit.

I ripped off some of my shirt and poured the water on it, using it to clean the gash on his forehead. I raced back to the medical aisle, tearing some cut treaters and pain killers out of the racks. I rubbed some Neosporin into the gash, and he murmured and shook.

With a sharp intake of air, he awoke on the floor and coughed. "Who..who are you?" he stammered.

"Seal Brooks, your savior" I replied. "And who are you?"

"Jack Gnad. I need to get out of here, and your'e coming with me"

I wanted to refuse, to put up this visage of some independent warrior, but a zombie apocalypse wasn't the time to care about first impressions.

Instead I nodded and looked outside to see if any more undead wanted to pay us a visit. A single figure was apparent at the end of the street, guessing from physique, and the fact that she was running, I guessed she was a unzombified female.

"I'd probably do more good with that gun than you would" Jack said behind me. I turned and glared at him.

"Too bad, you should find your own"

He returned the glare, than stood up and self-applied a band-aid. I stepped outside and waved to the girl. "Hey! No undead over here" As she got closer, I was able to decipher her form. She couldn't of been older than sixteen, and she had blonde hair.

"What happened?" she asked once she got there pointing at the car.

"Jack's just a bad driver I guess. I'm Seal, and we're getting out of here"

"Alyssa Brown" she said. "And if your'e getting out of this town, count me in"
With friends and courage one can stand against all foes, for neither man nor God can conquer those who are not alone

just.. pretend his post came before yours and we'll just go from there. it was kind of our fault for not specifying.

What really knocks me out is a book that, when you're all done reading it, you wish the author that wrote it was a terrific friend of yours and you could call him up on the phone whenever you felt like it. That doesn't happen much, though.
