An Anime Emo Boy

Hey you guys! I am posting another drawing I did, this time of an emo boy. I based the face shape and hair off of Alex Evans. Thank you so much! Please review!

This is not a bad drawing, personally I think it's really cute! He hardly seems emo at all with his big innocent eyes and adorable smile ^_^

All your porportions are very well measured. Nothing pops out as too large or too small or not in the right place. And I give you a lot of credit for that because it's something I always have trouble with.

The nose, to me, looks a little strange. Maybe it's too long and narrow. I would've drawn a simplier nose, like a cute little knob, because I think the rest of the drawing is adorable. Almost chibi-like.

I encourage you to keep putting effort into your drawings. Pay attention to giving the eyes a little more depth, and making your lines as smooth and as flawless as you can. You obviously have talent, so just keep working on the little details and you will definitely improve!

Thank you so much Black! Yeah when I drew this, I was just fooling around, and I really wanted to show the actuall emotional side, the sweet side, to the emo boy. They aren't all creeps who cut themselves because they hate their life or whatever. thank you so much for apreciating this! I'm never good at noses and I was trying to go for a more lifelike shape. I have to repeat what xXTheBlackSheepXx said about the nose. I think that the nose is a bit big and defined, not that there's anything wrong with that, but I since that this is suppose to be an anime, generally, the characters in anime don't have much of a nose (or mouth), it's often just this little line that sits a little bit below the eye. Sometimes, the nose is left out altogether, although that's very uncommon, it happens.

Also, I noticed that the lines start to get a little sketchy towards the shoulder, once again, nothing wrong with this, but, since you're drawing anime, I find that the lines in anime are all very well defined, it's just a single line and nothing else.

The eyes are pretty well done, they're big and innocence, like how an anime should be, so well done on that. The hair style is also pretty good, although, the shading seemed a bit rushed and careless to me. I'd suggest that if you want to shade, shade it carefully, because we all know that some parts of the hair is darker than the others.

Overall, I think that you have a pretty good drawing, you just need to be a bit more careful about not turning it into the sketch. Keep it up!
