Hello there :)

I'm new here. Um... there's not a lot to say about me. I'm kind of nervous, as I always am when I join a new website. I'm a newbie to not only this website, but writing forums in general. That being said, I've been writing for a very long time and talked about it on various websites. I've shared my writing plenty of times. However, I'm new to the whole reviewing and critiquing concept. I mean, I've reviewed writing before, but... not quite as seriously. So please, try your best not to hate me when I fail miserably. D:

Don't worry about failing at reviewing. Although, do know, for reviews to count they have to be about a paragraph long! One thing to remember is to say why you hold a certain opinion of a work. That's what a lot of people are looking for, I've noticed. What people think and why they think that way.

YWS was my first writing forum (and continues to be my only one)! Reviewing is a lot of fun because everyone is totally psyched to hear what you have to say and it doesn't matter if you've never done it before (as long as they're long enough to help people out). I'm Ash. With the whole critiquing thing, don't worry about it. It is solely to help each other out, and give each other different perspectives on things. No one on here that i know of is rude or obnoxious, so it isn't like they would tear up your writing or anything without trying to help you out. Think of it as a helping hand, because trust me, it does make you a better more efficient writer. And it doesn't seem like any one could hate you. On here we're like a big, wide spread, awkward family plus, I'm sure no one on here is allowed to write hate messages on a piece of writing. The more you relax into things, the easier it is to settle in with us. Welcome to our big messed up, fun family! Feel free to PM me anytime to review your work, or just to talk. There's really no need to be nervous. Everyone here is very helpful and supportive.
But if you're a little shy, you can sign up to get a mentor! Go to The Buddy System And look through all of the mentors' information sheets posted there to see if you might like one of them to mentor you. I'd be happy to provide my services if you want.
