my childhood hands clasped
more cold, sticky-toed frogs
than my adolescent fingers
brushed the minds of boys.
i would listen for hours
hoping the wind would carry
the call of the tree-dwellers
so that they could rest in my palm,
my eyes wide with wonder as
a tiny pulse mirrored my own.
the other girls ran when I held
the tiny faces to their own
because they didn't understand
that warts came from toads, not frogs.
if i told you-
i'm not afraid of frogskin
would you open your eyes to me?
so that little frogs can jump
out of your muddy-green eyes
and come to rest in my palm

Well, it's been a while, and I'm a little rusty xD I'm not quite sure if I want to leave the punctuation and capitalization like this or not. Currently though, I meant to leave the "i's" uncapitalized.
