Spoiler
I wrote this a LONG time ago. It's surprisingly good (at least I think so) for have written it when I was younger. I wrote it with my cousin Mya. (; I hope you like it! Oh, and please no editing advice. I don't think I'm gunna edit it. Although I might add on some more. I can't find the rest of the story at the moment.

The seat belt sign flashed as the plane began its descent into Brookefield. Katie slid up the window-cover to her left. It had been a pretty quick flight, at least it felt quick. She slept almost the whole time. She squinted as she peered out the window, the sky was a canvas of pink and orange haze as the morning crept up, rolling lush green hills and small, scattered towns were all she could get a glimpse of before she got interrupted by the flight attendant.

“Excuse me, miss you have to put your seat fully forward. Did you have a nice nap?”

“Oh yeah, sorry…it was, um, nice” She smiled sleepily.

The plane bumped and slid onto the runway and everyone hunched forward as the plane lurched forward at full speed and halted with sudden force. Katie waited as the old couple behind made their slow way past her seat.

“Thank ya, Sweetie.” The old man whispered shakily in a soft accent.

“No problem.” Katie replied as she reached up to get her handbag. She didn’t realize it was so heavy as she dragged it down the aisle. She slowly crept down the stairs and reached the hard, reassuring pavement of the runway. Before she even had a chance to rest her bag on the ground, she was attacked by her Aunt. She found she couldn't breathe as she was pulled up into a strong, never ending bear hug.

“Katie! Hi! Oh, I’ve missed you so much!” Her Aunt Stacey gushed.

“I...can’t…breathe,” Katie gasped. Her Aunt let go. “Hey Aunt Stacey! How are you?” Katie asked hugging her quickly.

“I don’t know who this Aunt Stacey is, but Stacey is just fine.” Her Aunt laughed.

“Oh, yeah right. I forgot!” Katie and Stacey walked over to a blue Expedition and threw her luggage in the over sized trunk. Katie jumped in the passenger seat as Stacey swung into the driver’s side.

“I’m glad you came early before school started. You’re going to love it Katie! It’s gorgeous! I get to see you every weekend too. It’s Sunday so everyone will be here tomorrow at 6 AM-ish.” Her Aunt chattered as the drove down the long windy road that was supposed to be a highway.
Katie smiled to herself. She loved it here in Brookefield, Oregon. Katie watched out the window as pastures of horses and cows flew by. Trees scattered variously around. It took nearly two hours until they reached the delicately embroidered gates of Brookefield Academy.

When the car sputtered up to the flaunted iron gates, they swung open and revealed the treasures inside. No, this couldn't be. But it was! In front of Katie sat the most amazing school Katie had ever layed her baby blue eyes on. As the car followed the meander of the gravel path, Katie marveled at this school's beauty. Had her Aunt really said she worked and basically lived at this place? To her right, she saw a gleaming pond, whose crystal clear water rippled as energetic frogs leaped from one lily pad to another, and balancing themselves once more as the the lily pads swayed under the new weight. Dragonflies buzzed about zig zagging in a buggy game of tag. Then to make it even better, there was a small boardwalk, worn with age. It was probably where kids sat and could talk all day. When it got hot, they could jump in for a splash.

"Just wait until you actually have classes! It'll be torture sitting in the classroom with the lake laying just out of reach." Katie mumbled spitefully.

"Katie, we have that there to support wildlife mainly, but we know school can be stressful on you guys. So yes, on breaks and after hours, students can swim, hun," Stacey giggled lightly.

"Seriously? Woah." Katie said in disbelief. This was just getting better and better. She noticed an upward slant form the pond, and on top of the small hill was an enormous oak tree. It was grand in looking splendor and in decor. Instead of harming the beauty by writing names in the tree's bark, students put ornaments on them by string and made of paper. Katie could make out some words on one of the ornaments. "Blade & Tara - Forever" Hm, I wonder who they are. Katie thought to herself. The gargantuan tree seemed to grow more and more the closer Stacey drove to it, it's branches seemed to resemble open arms welcoming students to come sit and study for a test, or simply think. The oak tree seemed to teem with life, it was a world of it's own inside the barrier of leaves

"That is one big tree, Stacey!" Katie exclaimed, still staring in awe. She didn't know she was so interested in some huge tree, but there was something special about it. Katie just couldn't place her finger on it yet.

"Oh yes, that giant oak has been on this campus since before the school was even thought about being built! It has a great history, and I hear it has powers. Oooohh." Stacey cood mysteriously. "I hear it can make people who are meant to be, fall in love. Maybe you'll find some hunky little fella here, eh?" She implied cheerfully.

"Oh cut it out, Stacey." Katie chuckled. "You know now is not the time for me to fall head over heels over some immature guy who's all cocky. I don't exactly need a distraction like that in a school like this." She huffed.

"Give these poor fellas a chance, Katie. You'd be surprised at some of the gentlemen here." Stacey winked into the rearview mirror.

"Whatever." Katie continued to look outside and see what else there was to do on campus. On the left was a small, but quaint little wooden gazebo with various flowers clinging to the exterior. And behind it was a lush, green pasture with a traditional white picket fence around the perimeter. But what was the pasture for? Katie thought to herself. Why would a school need a pasture? Unless...this wasn't an ordinary school. No, I mean out in Oregon, there's pastures everywhere, everyone has horses. Katie pushed the thought aside and leaned her head out the window into the crisp, clean air. The path to the school split in two, each side made a half circle and met again in the center. This caused there to be a circular, open space of grass. They had put it to use by placing numerous picnic tables and baskets on the ground.
Do they seriously have this much time in this school to go swimming AND have picnics? Sweet. Katie thought.

And the final destination had arrived. As Katie stepped out of the car, her multi-colored converses crunched on the gravel as she walked half-dazed toward the Acadamy. Her eyes were glued.

"So what do you think?" Stacey asked. The grin she usually had when she was showing off a new foal to Katie was plastered on her face.

"I...I...I think I'm in love." Katie squinted as she looked at the tremendously huge, old-fashioned school.
To accept life is to accept the fate it comes with- we were born to die.
So why not make the best of what we've been given with the short time we have on earth?
I like to live every day to it's fullest. (: And writing helps me do that...

It's a pretty good story, all in all. Nice concept, very cute! It was pretty great. I only noticed one thing I didn't like. You seem to have fallen into the habit of never saying the word "said." Sure, it's not as fun as mumbled, whispered, or yelled, but those words can distract from the story line. I did like your use of description, and I really think you have a lot of talent and potential. Great job(:
