You're so lucky you got your cat to sit still. I tried that on my cats, and they squirmed and ran away from me every two seconds. They hated it. I like the color of this picture, however it's a bit out of focus, and the main subject (obviously the eye) is centered, which could be moved to give a bit more balance to the picture. Still, though, great shot! The bluish tint to it reminds me of snow/winter for some reason. Thanks for posting this!
You treat life like a picture but it's not a moment that's frozen in time
Hey there, Crimsona! First off, Ducky is probably the cutest and most ironic name anyone could ever have for their kitty. Just saying!
Now, as for the picture there are a lot of things that are great about it, most especially the color. It looks tinted for sure but you did it very well which is a great compliment. I’ve seen plenty of images with tints on them that seem very forced but this image looks naturally very chilly and cool which the tint color perfectly reflects. Plus it’s a macro shot and I’m a sucker for macro shots.
However, there are other things that are off about this, mostly the center focus of the image. I would have loved to have seen this cropped different to put the eye farther to the left so that we would get a view of Ducky’s nose. (Kitty noses are just sooo cute!) Another thing is the sliver of background in the bottom right hand corner. It’s just as blurry as the white of Ducky’s nose. It would be different if the eye was sharper but the eye isn’t sharp enough to completely stand out so the contrast between the eye and everything else feels sort of clumsy. So really, what you need to focus on most is selective contrasting and blurring.
Still, I definitely love this picture and I’d love to see more picture of Ducky! Oh and good choice on not choosing the name "Cat Eye." This title grabbed my attention way more than "Cat Eye" would have! Good luck, Crimsona!
Never forget who you are, for surely the world will not. Make it your strength. Then it can never be your weakness. Armor yourself in it, and it will never be used to hurt you.
Hey there, The first thing I absolutely must say is "Wow". And I know that this is an extremely cliche thing to say but seriously. It's a very strong picture. You would swear there was a mouse in front of him just beyond the edge of the border. He seems very concentrated, as if stalking prey. Very nice. ~Brook
Cool! I like how it has the blue tinge to it. I've always been a fan of 'eye pictures' especially animal eyes!
It isn't schizophrenia when you write about the voices in your head and get it published. That's talent. "I have figured out what C.E.O. stands for: It means Caveman, with an Ego, who is Obese." -Jase Robertson, Duck Dynasty
I've seen that other people like the blue tint of the image but I personally don't like it. I think it just kind of makes everything one colour and then squashes it all into one plane, which ends up making the picture a little bland. I probably would've tried to make the cat's eye pop a little more through some sort of editing so that you have something in the image that pops out a little more and gives it anotehr dimension. Other than the tint this is a pretty good picture except that it seems a little blurry.
But good job getting the shot! Animals have a habit of moving...being alive and all...
Keep it up!
