The minutes turn into hours,
And the hours turn into days;
But you swear he’ll come home to you,
That it’s only a phase.

A push turns into a shove,
And a shove turns into a fist;
But you swear he just had a bad day,
So there’s no need to resist.

The truth turns into a lie,
And the lie turns into deceit;
But you swear his intentions are good,
And so he just repeats, repeats, repeats.

A tear turns into a river,
And a river turns into an ocean;
But you swear he’s the right man for you,
So you disregard your emotions.

This is amazing. The emotion that you put into this piece is incredible. Well done.
"So it all comes down to this, doesn't it? Does the wand in your hand know it's last master was Disarmed? Beacause if it does...I am the true master of the Elder Wand."

"And quite honestly, I've had enough trouble for a lifetime."

I love this, very side. One question how could a lie turn into deceit? Anyway, great piece full of emotion and all things that make poems good. Imagery, great wording, and an awesome moral.

lele253isme: To answer your question, I look at a "lie" as something that is spoken or said, whereas "deceit" is a form of physical deception...I don't know if that makes sense to you, though? That's just what I meant in that particular stanza.

Thanks for the feedback everyone!

Awh this was so sad. I feel for those people that are abused, I wish I could do something, and this poem really brings out that feeling. Great wording, great description, great scheme, great job! Keep Writing!

Wow, great poem.

The emotion is really awesome and your flow is just perfect. Your imagery is pretty good but maybe a few more emotion bits would make it better.
So, overall this is a really great poem and you have earned a "Like" from me! :D

Keep writing,
