My cousin, ALLDrawnout and I were talking about names. We both figured out that we both liked the same name, Kai. Unfortunately, both of us wanted that name. (Don't ask why) We decided to have a drawing contest. We both drew celebrities. My cousin drew Selena Gomez, while I drew Choi Sooyoung. Many of you will probably not know who that is. She is a Korean singer that I think is awesome. Well, this is a contest so I hope you would be kind enough to judge which one looks more like the picture: Mines or my cousin's. Please judge fairly. And also, don't judge by the person itself, just judge the quality of the drawing and how it looks exactly like the actual picture.
Well, my camera isn't good quality nor is my cousin's. Like we both said, "It looks so much better in person!" So, ignore the bad quality of our cameras and please judge our pictures thoughtfully and carefully. Thanks!
For mines: I didn't curl her hair because it started to get complicated. And I didn't put the bow in her hair because I felt that it was unnecessary to do that.

Well, first of all, I must say that both of these works are exceptional. They obviously took a lot of effort and time, so I'm not going to cast my vote and say one is better than the other.
I do have a few critiques, though..

Selena Gomez:
1) The lines at the edges of her smile are much too dark and deep. You should erase a few centimeters and make the ends fade a bit.
2) The nose bridge is too sharply defined. Rub the lines a bit with your fingers, or blur it with an eraser. (Important note: once you blur a pencil drawing with your fingers, it's almost impossible to change the blurred area.
3) The shape of the face is unnatural, and the chin is far too masculine. Gomez's face is rather wide, but in your portrait, you have it as an elongated oval.
4) The eyebrows are far too thin.

Choi Sooyoung
1) The fingernails are far too dark, also the lines on the finger joints shouldn't be that pronounced.
2) The bangs (Is that what the hair directly over the forehead is called?) aren't perfectly faded like anime hair should be. In the picture, you can see that the hair is rather thick, even right up the end. In the drawing, however, the hair doesn't even touch her right eye.
3) You missed out the hair clip! :O
4) This one is rather minor; why did you not draw the jacket?

Overall, you both did an excellent job!
May the best artist win!

Here as requested! I'm not really a one for votes but since the dispute is over names, I totally get the importance of that. My sister and I disagreed on what to name a character in our novel so... yeah. Names are quite a big thing! What do you get out of the ownership of it though? Does it mean the other can't use it in their novel, cos you can have characters with the same name if you're writing different books y'know.

Selena:

The hair is very nicely done so kudos there but the eyes are a little off. You haven't made them squinty or given them visible lids and you should really draw some lashes in because one of the most noticeable features of Selena is those long, beautiful lashes! The nose and mouth are both pretty well drawn but she has too much forehead, making her face a lot longer than it should be. Other than that, nicely done. Could perhaps have used some more detailed shading but it's a good likeness.

Choi:

The fringe is too short and it's a shame you didn't do the extra details like the curls in her hair or the clip. The marks under her eyes are either too dark or not thorough enough. If you're going to make them dark, you can't half draw them but really it would be better if you made them fainter and more sketchy. The nose is a little off. It looks like it's a weird shape because you've done a flat interpretation of hers but she's turned slightly to the side so it needs to be made more 3D to show that. A bit of a cop out putting the hair over her shoulder like that! You should have drawn in the jacket and stuff. Also, the hand's well drawn but the lines are too dark and you haven't shown how it's pressing up against her face. Yours looks like she's holding it out in front of her or something. It's a nice drawing though and I think people who know her would be able to recognise the picture as her.

Alright then. Voting time! I could just enter the poll and choose one without telling you but I'd rather explain my reasons. I've voted for the first one because, while you're both good artists, I think your cousin's picture is more detailed and accurate and it feels like she's spent more time on it.
