So last week BrooklynWriter gave me my first drawing request. I'm posting the work-in-progress on this site for her to see and give me some last minute critiques. Of course, help from everyone else is most definitely welcome :D

The request was two characters from her novel. A skinny teen girl with black hair that has a blue streak on the left side, and a teen guy with brown hair. The scene was supposed to be near a patch of woods, with him reaching out to her. Yes, I failed at that part, since I didn't draw a very realistic woods or the hand reaching out. Hopfully it'll still be alright x)

don't mind the strange white edges, I'll be sure to delete those. Like I said, work in progress x)

Ahah! I recognize the dark leaf and flower brushes! :D
Anywho, you're doing great, but the lineart seems to be lacking in the guy character. The hair is excellent though, almost perfect.
I've really got nothing else to say, you're rocking as is.
Keep artin'!

Hey Blacky! Love this one.

Another great work from you eh? I love the colors from this one, the mood is well thought out and it feels very solemn, warm and great. The girl with the cane made me really think about her, she's a very mysterious and a very great part in this sketch, she really made my feelings flow out for her. The boy sitting right there makes this VERY great! The way you place settings is really nice. The boy and the girl's hair are nice, you've got a talent for drawing that. This would be perfect if it weren't for the white edges on the lower and right side.
Overall:
concept - 5/5
color - 5/5
setting and characters - 5/5

Have a nice time blacky, okay? :) <3

Hey, (just got your PM)
Wow. I must say that you had me a bit worried with your PM. But seriously, this is really good. I do agree with Jenth. The lines on Derek, should probably be a little more defined (he looks a bit ghostly), but that's a simple matter. The color scheme is brilliant! It's better than anything I could have dreamed up. And despite your not being experienced with the crutches, you did wonderfully. Yes, I would prefer that he was reaching out to her but as I said, I can adjust. Very nice I can't wait for the finishing product!
