Hecto S. Akiyaba, also known as Osama by Gerald and Justine, sat in the much too tiny seat in the third row in the coach section. After he had muttered have a nice flight to Gerald and watched him and the pretty young girl he was with venture into first class, he reached into his back pocket and grabbed for his wallet. He rummaged through the many ATM receipts and few one dollars bills, and finally found what he was looking for. He pulled it out and studied it closely. It was a picture of Hecto with his wife and daughter standing beside and old wooden shed he had build for his daughter, Johara, when she was first born a little over 10 years ago. The shed was built to store all of Johara’s toys. Hecto came over to the United States from Pakistan in late 1994 to work for a slaughter house, or now days called a meat packing facility, and learned English very quickly. As of late last year, he moved to the Plant Quality Control Supervisor position. He was the town engineer and electrician back in Pakistan, but left that all behind to start a new life in the US. Hecto was not a violent man up until recently. This is what led him onto the plane.

His daughter went to school at Clearwater Elementary, and she was a what some people refer to as a slow learner. Johara had been in an after school program for children that were slow learners, and needed extra help to understand what they were being taught in the regular school day. This class was held three nights a week. Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 3:30 P.M. till 5:00 P.M. by Mr. Ben Roberts. Mr. Roberts had said at the previous parent teacher conferences that Johara was just not grasping what the children were learning during the day, and offered to help her in the alternative education program he instructed after school at no cost. He also stated he could give her a ride home if they chose they wanted Johara to attend the classes, because it was on his way home, and he took two other students as well. After some discussion with his wife, Diana, they both agreed that this class would be in Johara’s best interest. Johara began the classes a week later.

After a few weeks, Johara’s behavior had noticeably changed. She did not speak much, her appetite had diminished, and they would hear her crying at night. Hecto asked his daughter numerous times what was the matter, and Johara simply said she was just tired from studying all the time, and people picked on her for being in the after school program. Hecto asked Diana about possibly taking her out of the class, but Diana said not to because her grades were very good lately, and she knew it was doing Johara good.

One day as Diana was doing the laundry, she happened to notice some blood in the seat of her daughter’s underwear, and immediately became alarmed.
“Is it too early for Johara to get her period? She is only 10,” Diana asked to her husband.
“How the hell would I know? I mean, I’m not a girl. You tell me. Is she too young?” He asked back to his wife. Diana didn’t take much time to think.
“I believe she is. What is going on then? Should we take her to a doctor and have her looked at? Because this can’t be good.”
“Well, if you’re asking me, I think we’d better. Call and make the appointment, and I’ll get off work to take her,” Hecto said. “I’ll talk to her after I’m done eating.”
Diana peered into his dark eyes and knew he was concerned for his daughter. After he was done with his meal, he walked up the steps to talk to his daughter.

“Johara, we need to talk,” Hecto said as he opened his daughter’s door. Johara was in her underwear, pulling up a pair of sweat pants she wore every night to study in. Her science book was lying wide open on the bed. Hecto noticed that there were bruises on both of her legs. She noticed Hecto and tried to hurry and pull up the sweats.
“What did you do to your legs? How did those bruises get there, Johara?” He asked his daughter. She looked up at her father, and her face turned bright red. “Nothing, papa. I just fell at school, that’s all,” Johara said hoarsely.
“You don’t get bruises like that from falling. Come over here and let me see.”
“Please papa, I really fell. Just believe me.” She pleaded
“Come over here, I wanna have a look at them,” He said sternly. Johara walked over to the bed and sat down. Hecto looked at the bruises on his daughters legs, and then back up to his daughters face. Big tears were forming in her eyes. All at once, he knew. He knew what was going on…the blood, the bruises, the tears, the sadness. He knew. He felt a certain rage build up inside him as tears filled his own eyes, but he held the rage back.
“Who is it?” He asked his daughter. She said nothing.
“Who is it, damnit! You tell me!”
Johara wanted to keep silent, but knew she had better tell her father what had been going on.
“Mr. Roberts, papa. He makes me do it. He said if I didn’t I would fail and that I…,” she tried to explain, but Hecto stopped her before he had to listen to anymore. His eyes welled with tears. How could he let this happen to his innocent daughter. How could he let this wolf posing as a teacher take advantage of his sweet young girl.
“That’s enough, hun. I know all I need to know for now. I promise you, Mr. Roberts won’t ever touch you again. You’re done with that class, and I will be picking you up from school.”
“Are you gonna tell the police? He said if I told anybody our secret, he would hurt me,” She pleaded to her father.
“This will be your secret, and Roberts will pay hun. By the hands of me, not the police. If you feel you want to tell your mother, you can, but you’re my little girl and I love you. If you never want anybody to know, I understand. Mr. Roberts will pay, I promise.” He looked at his daughter and already knew what her decision was. Hecto patted her bruised leg, got up from the bed and walked towards the door. Just before exiting he turned back to her for a brief moment.
“Get some sleep hunnie,” he said as she shut the door. He was very distant with his wife the rest of the evening, and found it was very difficult to sleep.

“Hello, Mr. Roberts. This is Hecto Akiyaba calling; Johara’s father.” Hecto said to the scum that raped his little girl.
“Oh yes, Hello Hecto. How are you and, Dianne, is it?” The skunk asked.
“Diana. Good, and thanks. The reason I’m calling is we decided to pull Johara out of the alternative education program she is attending after school. Johara just seems to be very unhappy, and she feels she would do just as well on her homework and exams without the class.”
“Oh, dear. I had no Idea she was unhappy. Did she state the reason why she was so unhappy?” Ben asked. Hecto heard himself in his mind saying, yeah, you raping fuck. You stole her innocence without her consent and now she has the memory of you getting your load off on her for the rest of her life. I ought to cut off your balls.
“She did. People were picking on her for being in that class. Called her names a lot, to the point where she would come home crying. So I’m sure you can understand why we are pulling her out,” Hecto stated.
“I sure can, but let me tell you, if I would have heard anybody calling Johara a bad name, I would most assuredly had given out disciplinary actions,” Roberts said.
”I’m sure you would have. So, Johara mentioned to me you will be going on trip to Paris this summer. That sounds nice,” Hecto said to the scum.
“Yes, I am. My wife, son, and I are going. He is four now. We wanted to wait till he could at least walk so we wouldn’t have to carry him everywhere. We are actually leaving the morning of June 12th. We are flying straight into Paris. Well, not literally, HA, but into the Paris Airport. We aren’t even renting a car; we plan on walking everywhere,” the scumbag chuckled. “I always wanted to go to Paris.”
“Well, we just wanted to tell you thanks for all you did for Johara, and we hope you have a nice trip.”
“Oh, well thank you. Sorry to hear about Johara, and tell Dianne I said hello,” Ben said.
“It’s Diana. Have a good flight,” Hecto said as he was hanging up. He smirked to himself and said “You’re fucked” under his breath.

After Hecto had gotten off the phone with Ben, he went to the computer in his daughter’s room, and typed into the Google Search Engine flights to Paris, France June 12th, and was pleased when he found what he was looking for. There were two flights that were departing to Paris - Le Bourget Airport out of Tampa. One for 11:55 A.M., and the other for 7:25 P.M. He clicked on the 11:55 A.M. flight, and noticed there were seven seats in coach available, and two in first class. For what Hecto had planned, coach seats would be fine, and round trip would not be needed. He stood up and reached around his backside to get his wallet. He pulled it out, and took out his blue Bank of America card, typed in his credit card information, and confirmed his purchase. It was all set.
“In Pakistan, you die for your family. You die for what you think is right. You ruin my family…I will ruin yours.” Hecto said to himself, and stood up. Tears welled in his eyes. He turned to walk out of his daughter’s room, and then something on Johara’s dresser caught his eye. It was a picture of Hecto with his wife and daughter. This time, a tear fell and sloshed onto the picture, leaving a small watermark. Hecto wiped his eyes, and tucked the picture into his wallet as he walked out the door.

Oh. My. Gosh. This was amazing! And awful! But by awful, I mean it's awful what happened to Johara, but the storyline was great!

I'm really glad we now know why "Osama" (now Hecto) is in the story. It really helps clear things up, but it also stirs up some new questions.

Why did he say, "Have a nice flight." to Gerald, in that sense? It's not like Gerald was Ben Roberts, so why would he be like that to Gerald?

Also, maybe it was just to add humor, but I never fully understood why Hecto felt the need to flick his "gold" onto Justine's book bag. Maybe he was practicing for when he got a hold of Ben or something, but as of now it still is unclear.

I loved the description of his daughters state though. Even though it was heartbreaking, it was still very well written. The only thing was, I could sort of tell that it was going to happen, once I heard, "I could give her a ride home as well." But this still was really very good.

I loved it, and can't wait until the next chapter! Awesome job!
