Writers Block

Recently, my English teacher assigned us a project called the Anything Book. It's 50 pages of anything you want. At first it seemed simple, but after 30, I'm stuck! I need help thinking up wild and crazy things to write about, so if you could help me that would be great! Just post a comment explaining the topic! And if you want me to, just ask and when I finish writing it I will submit it to YWS!

You know, something I find really fun to do when this happens is use the story generator here on the website! story_theme.php

It generates themes and it is really fun to just go crazy with them. Another thing I like to do when this happens, is pick a random thing in the room and start writing about it as if it were real. Maybe as a poem, maybe as a short story. It is quite effective in coming up with ideas, providing you just make it as crazy as possible. Hope this helps!

Thank you HostofHorus, it did help. I already knew of the random story theme generator, but I was looking for prompts such as "Why are tennis balls fuzzy" or "What was the craziest thing you have done this year". Does anybody else have ideas like that? All ideas are helpful!

It has some things kind of like what you have in mind. Another idea might be going to the contests section of YWS and looking at some of the contests people have. They usually have some cool prompt-like things going on.

I've got one! Why do cows moo? Or Are fruit really fruit or are they aliens from another planet? Do those help at all or are they duds?
