Alright so I gotta admit it's not QUITE finished in this picture. Almost. But not quite. I just wanted to get it uploaded before the review day started. If you want to see the original, look at my avatar. :) The background is a little bit more red in the painting because it makes the bird 'pop.' Critiques so far?

[it's kind of fuzzy white on the right side; I don't know why, but the painting's not like that]
Thanks so much! :)

I have a confession. This is only my second painting. :?

Ooooh, sorry, I think I took this at a bit of an angle. That's why the rail the bluejay's on looks so crooked. :P

Wow.
Either way, it's still beautiful
It took my breath away :D It kind of makes me want to be a painter, but I can't even paint a straight line

Excellent job! I suggest you try and make your lines a bit more even, but otherwise the bird is looking brilliant. I can't wait to see it finished.

Also, excellent job at doing such an elegant bird. I tend to only do modern-style paintings, very abstract, and save my detail work for pencil, but this shows how beautifully detailed a painting can be. Keep it up.

O.O Your second painting?

Lastly, I think the shadow is a bit off...for some reason. Maybe it's a perspective thing. I don't think you could change it, but you might want to look a bit closer?
My SPD senses are tingling.

Ok, wow this is absolutely amazing! The colour is perfectly balanced and to be honest, I think it's better than the actual picture :) If this is only your second painting, you are naturally talented and should be proud :) As someone said, the shadow is a teensy bit off, but that's a very minor detail and it's lovely.

I absolutely adore this! You captured the bluejay so well. I love the blending of the colors that you did, especially the colors in the background.

You did fantastic on this. Like, I'm astounded.

The bluejay looks so realistic I feel like I looked out of my window during a briks fall day and saw the bluejay on the tree outside my window.

You did wonderful foreshortening and did incredibley well with the realism.

You paid such close attention to the small little details, and for that I love you. It's been a while since I've come across someone that does that, like I do.

So, yeah, great job! Keep painting!

Wow!
Let me just say that you are a very talented person! To be able to write, take pictures, and paint like you do... Incredible.
I know this is not a very helpful review, but seriously. Wow.

Ooh, pretty. I think this is lovely =] Lovely shading and your proportions seem to be right on. I like the background, even if it is a little brighter. Overall a descent painting =]]]
