Spoiler
Ello people! This time I added two chapters in one, because I haven't uploaded anything in a while, and my chapters were a bit too short to my liking. The story will be horribly long then. XD But please enjoy the new chap! :) The second part will be bloody, so keep that in mind.

CHAPTER 8

“Good morning, Aedan, dear..” I whispered.

It still sounded weird in my own ears, as if I wasn’t the one saying it. Aedan was quiet for a moment, then he smiled and slowly started laughing. He kissed me, over and over. “So.. you’re not Melissa Parker anymore?” He whispered in my ear. I laughed ashamed now I remembered Melissa Parker. “Eh.. No. ..I’m sorry, hunny.” Aedan laughed happily. “No, no! It doesn’t matter what happened! You’re back, and that’s the only thing that matters!” He embraced me tightly. I felt happy. “Yes. I’m happy to be back too.” And I hugged him back. We heard some noise, and simultaneously looked at the door. There stood Daniël. He smiled. “I see you’re back, Mariah.” And he stepped forward. I jumped out of bed and hugged him. “Oh dear brother!” I whispered, “How could I forget about all of you..” He patted my head. “There, there.”

Still I felt like he had the same personality as Jason. What such a disease could do to you..! The doctor came in too. “Ah, child! I already thought you’d be good today!” I fell quiet. “..Ah, y-yes!” How came I felt like I couldn’t trust her? My memories of her were all good, but every fiber in my body rejected her. “I see.” She mumbled, “Well, I have to go now.” She turned around, but Aedan grabbed her arm. “Will.. Will something like this happen again?” The doctor - I’d rather call her witch if you don’t mind - sighed. “Last time I told you she was cured, it came back even worse than before.. I don’t know. I’m sorry.” She stepped out of the room and disappeared.

Aedan was so happy about my ‘return’ that he bought me all kinds of presents. We went to a lot of nice places, and he spoiled me a lot. Still.. I wasn’t really happy. A few months had passed already, and I was slowly getting depressed. I had forgotten about Jason and my ‘other’ life, and the only memories I now had were from here. But I felt incomplete. I missed something. The last day of the month - it was autumn - I sat in bed, I felt so depressed I couldn’t even cry. Aedan came in, concerned. “How do you feel today, hun?” He asked quietly, a tray with food in his hands. I didn’t respond. I didn’t even touch the food. I felt like a spoiled, ungrateful child, but I couldn’t help it. Why was I so sad, as if I had forgotten something… Important? Aedan stroked my hand, sighed, and asked if I wanted something. “No.” I whispered huskily. Aedan kissed my hand, and stood up, sad. “I’m sorry Aedan.” He smiled, but not wholeheartedly. It was more a comforting smile, even though I didn’t feel comforted at all. “I love you Mariah, never forget that!” He softly kissed my cheek. I nodded. Aedan walked away, softly closing the door behind him.

A tear slowly ran over my cheek. I shuddered, and closed my eyes for a second. Then I heard the door opening again. “Hey, Daniël.” I said apathetic, not even looking straight at him. Daniël stopped. “Eh? What’s with you?” He said frowning, “My name is Jason, remember? And why the heck are you crying?” My eyes flew open. “Jason!?”

“Yes, who else?” My eyes were wide, slowly the memories came back to me again. A tear dripped down my cheek, now it was a tear of happiness. “Yes!” I mumbled, “How could I forget this!” Jason looked at me, head tilted. “Are you all right?” I smiled dazzling at him. “Never been better!” But I was still wondering if everything was just a dream. Jason stepped out of the room. “Well, if you say you’re all right, you can help me clean a bit. It’s still storming, so we can’t go out yet.” I nodded, lost in thoughts. “Yes, yes.” May it be all a dream. Again! While I was thinking I saw a glimpse of a person walking out of the door. “Be free..” He said. I knew it was Numiat.

It was all right now. But I knew there was some evil in the house. We had to get out, or find a way to eliminate the evil. I grinned confident. We shall exorcise them.

The next two days we (Jason and I) were moving the skeletons and torture equipment out of the basement. It was still raining heavily, and it didn’t look like we could go out soon. So we just busied ourselves cleaning and arguing. Thinking of just going out in the extremely heavy rain. I wish we just did back then. But we waited and waited until we couldn’t go out anymore, and there was no turning back…

“Jason!” I yelled through the - now a lot cleaner than before - house. “Jason, where the heck are you!” No answer. An eerie feeling came over me. I went searching for him, deliberately ignoring the attic and the basement. I couldn’t find him. Did he maybe.. go out on his own? Would he leave me here alone? I shook my head, clearing it. No, he wouldn’t do that. Even though he was an asshole. I shouted his name again, still no answer. I had no choice but to search in the basement and the attic too, so I walked downstairs. It was dark, and I lit a candle. Just when I did that I saw a glimpse of a person. “Jason?” No answer again. I started to feel irritated. If Jason was just playing a sick joke on me… I walked around, in the now almost empty basement. I heard a jingling sound of shackles and quickly turned my gaze towards the sound. The sight made my stomach turn, and I started vomiting on the filthy wet floor.

There.. right before me, in one of the last torture devices hung Jason. Eyes poked out and legs ripped off. He was covered in blood, and twitching heavily. I screamed at the top of my lungs, covering my eyes and mouth. He was still alive! I tried to get him out of there, but it was of no avail. I fell to my knees ignoring my vomit. I whispered, too shocked to do something about Jason’s position, “I knew it! We should’ve left this evil house! Why did this happen?” “Help me..” came the tortured voice from Jason, but I yelled back at him, unable to handle this. “Shut up! Just shut up! This is your own fault in the first place!” He kept asking for help, screaming in agony when I didn’t respond, until his voice was hoarse and raw and nothing more than a dying whisper.

I lay on the ground, shaking, asking God if I could die when I heard a voice from above me. “Melissa? What are you doing!? Are you okay?” I lifted my head, still shaking and crying. My eyes flew open. It was Jason! How could it be Jason!? Jason was.. I looked back at the Rack (the torture device), but it was empty. Jason stood next to me, alive and well. I panted, nothing but fear in my eyes. “Impossible! Are.. are you real? Are you the real Jason?” He didn’t answer at first, looking at me, concerned, then he spoke again. “Of course I’m the real Jason! …Collapsing in your own vomit… Gross.” Jason reached out, disgusted, but none the less concerned. When he touched my arm I twitched heavily, and crawled away from him towards the Rack. “B-but I saw you! I saw you with my own eyes!” I touched the cold metal of the shackles and I felt something sticky dribbling on my hand. Then I saw a glimpse of red eyes behind the Rack and heart someone chuckling evil when I saw it was blood dribbling over my hand. “No… No!” Then I screamed again, and passed out.

May it be all a dream.

Should this be "Maybe it's all a dream"? The wording sounds a bit strange.

O.o Creepy.........

So she can't trust anyone, huh?

Is this like the Circle Trilogy (by Ted Dekker)? I mean, does she go to another world when she falls asleep or something? Or is she bipolar? (I know I should read the other chapters to learn the chapter, but..... :P limited time, and all that.)

Overall, it was pretty good, but I think you can do better. The wording is..... kinda simplistic. I don't know how else to say that.

I liked it. It made me feel as creeped out as she did.
one thing though.

There.. right before me, in one of the last torture devices hung Jason.

after the word devices, there should be a comma.
