Okay, so I really love this genre because of the despair and drama, but it is way overdone. I need to write this story from a new point of view and I just wanted to ask for some ideas! Thanks!

Idea: Go back to the original zombie legends and all legends related to them...and write your story with the original sort zombies, not the new age Night of the Living Dead zombies.
It's also interesting to take the basic legend and then change just one small part about it. Like, how zombies are created, what sort of abilities they have, what their 'goals' are once they are zombies. Changing just one part, without doing something totally different, makes things interesting while keeping that same essence of zombies.
Also, Cspr's idea is good too. Legends like that tend to change over time, so going back to the original and following that will yield different results than going off of what people think of zombies as today.
I am going back to the original to an extent, I think I am going to do something voodooesque. The only problem is, I have to have a character to drive my stories! My writing is more about the characters than the actual story... Thanks for your help! I am going voodoo!
