Water Dragon with Rider

I drew this during school. I have not drawn dragons in so long, it was a refresher after drawing realistic-looking horses (or attempting to) in art class. I almost never draw whole dragons, just heads, because there's less focus on proportion, but I gave this a shot. I am also bad at drawing people, but I got bold and gave a rider a shot as well.
I didn't clean this up much and haven't shaded yet. Also, you notice that there it no lanscape. I hate doing backgrounds, so i am leaving that blank for now lol.

Very cool. I'm getting slightly confused looking at the tips of the wings though and the lines at bottom part of the tail are a bit dark, causing it to look almost like it's seperate from the tail. It might just be me though. Keep on drawing!

1) Hmm, it's hard to tell what's dragon and what's empty space. A little shading would fix that.
2) Also, the wings don't look very strong; they look floppy.
3) The rider's head looks a little weird too.
Other than those three little points, you've got an excellent lineart! I love drawing dragons too, but I almost never draw them with riders. >__<

This drawing is amazing! I always wanted to try drawing dragons, but no matter how much I practice, it never works out for me. I don't really see anything wrong with this drawing. Though, it feels like there's more life on the top part of the dragon. (Like the wings, head, tail, and back) And the bottom part feels like it doesn't have much life in it. (Feet, belly, neck) But I can understand that. The bottom part is pretty easy to do, but you have to get more detailed at the top part. Other than that, you draw really well. I'm not the type of person to draw realistically. Keep on drawing!

This is great! I really like it The dragon seems to have a lot of life in it, and to me your lineart looked very well done. Everything seems to have dimension, and the picture doesn't look flat.

Just a few things, that are really very minor

-it looks like the rider is leading him by some kind of rope that's attached to his neck, which is weird to me
-the line drawing at the feet looks very light and almost unfinished, like you were unsure of yourself. A bit more detail there would help, i think.
-i think you drew the person very well (btw is it a boy or girl? x) ) but to me the bump for the nose is really too big and ... bumpy x) I'd make it smaller.

Overall, I love it! Since you didn't do any coloring/shading, I felt a strong urge to color it myself x) Would it be alright with you if I tried to?

Wow! I love this!! The dragon is mystic and beautiful, and the rider actually has a elbows and knees which seems to be lost on a lot of artists. The whip seems a little more like a ribbon, but other than that I'm having a really hard time finding a but for this critique. Keep drawing. It'll take you places.

I think it's great. It has definite spark to it that just makes you want to view it over and over and over and over again! One small thing I would recommend is defining the lines to make it bolder and stand out more. Other than that I think it's epic and awesome XD. Anyway I just loved it and you are obviously a really talented artist (unlike myself!) Please post more drawing because these were great. !
