-Does love always win out in he end? Can it defeat Evil or will it help it prevail?

Into The Mystics
Chapter one: The Unexpected

“You have to fight it I can’t do it for you! Remember who you are. Think back to all of the times we had together, I know the real you is in there somewhere! You have to find your way out!”

“Rawer!” the monster tried to claw me. I just barely dodged it and I most likely would get hit the next time. I couldn’t do this alone. I need help and if I don’t leave now I won’t get another chance to get away. He is going to hurt me physically, I’m already hurt emotionally. I have to leave. Warm wet tears falling down my face I said my last words

“I hate to leave you like this but, I have to. Goodbye for now, I love you.” lifting up into the night I slowly flew away screaming at myself not to turn around because if I did I knew I wouldn’t be able to leave him. Flying and swerving with my blurry teary sight into the night I headed to the only people I knew would help me in my time of desperate need…my friends. How was I going to tell them that he was only getting worse? I thought I was fixing him! I thought he was getting somewhat better. I don’t understand how I missed the darkness creeping back into his thoughts. He had seem perfectly fine and happy, no anger or hate showed through.

“I’m losing my powers” I said aloud in sudden realization. Now I really needed to get to Tiffany and Julie! I really seemed to need them a lot lately. I don’t deserve them they are too good to me and I have nothing to give them in return. Recently I have just been waiting for a day when I walk to their door and get it slammed in my face in rejection. I am so drained and I have to get there quickly before the sun starts to come up because then that will drain me even more. I’m a vampire fairy and vampires don’t do so hot in daylight. The fairy part of me keeps me from being affected too much, still at the moment the slightest bit of anything will hit me like a million pounds. I have zero energy left. My emotional damage is way too large, this mess has taken every bit of energy I have. Nevertheless I just have to make it and then I can collapse.

I don’t expect my friends to waste their power on healing me. Not if they already give me a place to rest. I could just go home. I live right next to them. On the other hand I need somebody with me right now. I can’t handle being alone with my thoughts. They will rip me apart and leave me a mess, bigger than the one I already am.

There it is I’m here! Thank the Lord for he has mercy! Descending a little too quickly, I stumbled to their door. Tiffany opened the door to find my face a tear stained wreck, my cloths muddily disheveled and my hair full of twigs and dirt.

“What the hell happened to you Ally?! You y-you look like you were in a-a.” she said looking me over. Just then Julie came in from the kitchen carrying drinks on a tray only to see my appearance and drop it completely frozen in shock

“W-what h-hap? are you okay?” she said snapping out of her shock she ran over to help Tiffany carry me into the house. When I saw the concern on their faces a teardrop fell down my already damp cheeks. They really are the best friends in the world. How I could ever doubt them I don’t know. All I know is that inside my head I mentally slapped myself.

“You have some serious explaining to do missy.” Tiffany said as she and Julie assisted me into the house and into a sturdy chair.

“Give her a minute Tiffany hold the interrogations until she gets a hold on herself! I will go get more drinks, Tiffany please go and clean up the ones I spilled. It will keep you occupied while Ally catches her breath.” Julie said calmly in her usual light-hearted and caring way. She then turned and headed back into the kitchen, Tiffany following toward the spilled mess and cleaned it. I took the moment to gather my thoughts and try to get my story straight. I had been with Jack; we were having a sunset picnic and then when the sun went down…that’s when it all went wrong.

I hadn’t realized that both Julie and Tiffany were now sitting in front of me and watching me stare off into aimless space. Quickly, I came back into reality before I could get to the nightmare part thankfully. Still, telling them about that part would be inevitable. Tiffany saw me look at her then broke the silence asking

“Ally? Are you ready to talk yet?” she asked her eyes searching mine.

“Yeah, I don’t know where to start.” I mumbled

Julie gently said “Start from when you left at noon.”
I sighed trying to smile this was going to be a long painful and sad conversation.

“You both saw me leave at noon?” I asked in an exhausted voice.

“Yes we were outside. I was gardening and Tiffany was practicing her magic.” Julie assured me.

“Alright, well to start I was going to go see Jack to go check in on him, and then half way I ran into him. He was coming to invite me to a sunset picnic as a happy little present to lift my spirits. After that we headed back towards his house. On the way there he told me he wanted to tell me something when we arrived and got settled. I knew that he was trying to make me excited but, he couldn’t see that just being with him made me glad.
We did have our picnic. It was delightful! Everything seemed more than fine. Jack showed only the Jack I knew. The one I am thankful to have back. Nothing was wrong from what I could see, but I don’t think I was looking hard enough because when the sun went down and the moon rose he bent his head down to whisper in my ear.” I paused here recalling what happened and shivering at the thought “His body started trembling shaking violently, I knew what was happening but I was caught off guard a-and….” I was in hysterics at this point. Teardrops coming fast, furiously out of my eyes evoking the horrible memory I would never forget… the terrible look of shock, pain, anger, and hate on Jack’s face as he shook viciously.

“Ally, Ally it’s going to be ok calm down take a deep breath and just breathe… breathe.” Tiffany spoke to me gently rubbing my back attempting to calm me down. While Julie handed me a handkerchief to wipe my eyes.

“Then he transformed into the bear monster. It was terrifying! He was growling and stalking me like prey! He was crouching and baring his teeth at me. I really tried my very best to help him. I spoke to him, tried compelling him nothing worked! Seeing him with all that hate broke my heart to pieces.’

Still, I couldn’t leave him even as he continually tried to claw me and rip me apart. I didn’t know what to do I couldn’t understand how Jack changed so fast usually he can just shake it off…this time it over took him before he even had a chance to. I can’t comprehend it all! I thought he was better. I Thought that I had taken away all the darkness and evil. How the hell did it come back?” I said still crying but my frustrated thoughts slowed my tears.

“Maybe you missed a little, I mean after all you did take a lot out. You wouldn’t have known if a little had escaped your power?” Julie inquired.

Last summer Jack had been possessed by an evil warlock and was cursed to be a werebear for the stupid warlock’s own entertainment. It was wrong, Jack had been a simple woodsman and with a bad stroke of luck his life was completely altered forever. I loved Jack before the accident, but after I used all my being and powers to a point where it almost killed me to save him, my love for him only grew more. Now a days he was doing ok. He was dealing with it and I was helping him.

This, this sudden outburst from him was a very bad thing! It could mean that the evil part will completely take him over and I would never see my beloved Jake again. Plus I didn’t know how in the hell to deal with it! My heart was screaming at me to tear out of the house, go find Jack wrap my arms around him then never let go. I was crying again except this time my friends comforting did nothing, they were just there.

Out of the blue I felt a sudden swish of happiness flow through my body…magic! My friends were using their magic to heal me! “O-h n-no y-you g-guy d-don’t h-have t-t-tooo.” I slurred thru my blurry vision. Little by little the light from the room left my eyes. The last thing I saw was Julie and Tiffany bending over me with their hands shooting out magic into me. As the peaceful darkness took over I gave into it letting all my struggles and problems go with the light. I drifted into a long deep slumber in which I had a vision. A vision of the horrors that were to come upon Jack, Julie, Tiffany, and I…

Chapter one part two: The Vision

It was light outside and I was curious as to why it wasn’t bothering me or Tiffany. We were laughing and it was cheerful and fun. Then without warning the sun disappeared and it was dark and black as night. It was silent, eerie too quiet. I heard myself whimper, that’s when we heard it… a loud rawer that shook the forest ground beneath us Julie showed no fear she stood strong, intertwining her arm with mine as well as Tiffany’s . Tiff showed a serious fighter face. She didn’t even flinch at the terrifying sound. I nevertheless could only just stand shaking ferociously and choking back frightened tears. There was another rawer and birds flew from the trees as they shook from their roots to their branches.
He was coming. Jack was coming. And there was to be a huge storm of trouble and hurt coming with him. “You guys have to get away from him he will hurt you he doesn’t know what he is doing! Jack can’t control it!” I screamed at them.

“Hush now Ally we can handle what’s coming. You doubt our abilities. Julie and I can help you. You just have to let us.” Tiffany had said it so seriously it almost didn’t sound like Tiffany I looked at her to see a dark beauty, powerful and fierce face with eyes cold, gloomy and protective showing no real emotion except a clear bring it on sign on her forehead pointing in the direction of the sound’s source.

“You don’t believe in yourself Ally, you have to though because that is the only thing holding you back. It is making you weak, vulnerable, and constantly frightened at things that shouldn’t scare you. For example your own love… Jack, you have to face him. You really should not be afraid to face him.” what Julie was saying was rang true

“I don’t know what it is. This power holding me back it never used to be there…This fear it isn’t me! It is like some other force pushing the real me out.” I whispered it but I’m sure they had heard every word. This sudden awareness that I wasn’t completely in control of my feelings hit me like a bucket of ice water on a hot day, at least it woke me up quite a bit. I even felt that controlling presence in me right now. I gathered all my inner energy than did my best to shove it out completely. It was definitely a struggle.

Next I knew I was me again…The three of us, arms sturdily intertwined ready for anything! Although I only caught a glimpse of what looked like a dark shadow creeping out of the wood ahead of us I did see the evil little creatures lingering within the woods waiting, watching, listening to our every word as well as our every move. Their piercing, dark eyes showing their pure evil soullessness. They were definitely intimidating, but currently I felt like I had been reawakened and ready to take on anything. A sly smile crept onto my face.
For the first time in a long time I was confident and unafraid. Or in any case I was until I saw… him. Jack looked very different; he was a monster his eyes glowing with hate, anger, hunger. It wasn’t my Jack, it was an animal, an unnatural one at that and he had to be stopped by someone! In spite of this, in spite of all that I had been through with this man-creature. That someone couldn’t be me. Even if it has to be I am not ready to do it and I will die before I see the day that anyone will physically hurt Jack.
That thing standing in those woods right now was not my Jack though, my Jack was stuck somewhere inside that horrible thing. Right then as I had only caught a glimpse of him, the vision ended abruptly.

Gradually coming back to consciousness I felt warm like I was sitting next to an open fire. I heard footsteps in the room above wherever I was. Still, I didn’t open my eyes. Instead I replayed my vision in my head trying very hard to make sense of it. Recalling my fight with the inner presence within me, I checked to see if I could indeed now feel an unwanted presence in my mind. Surprisingly I did sense that same weird controlling thing in my head. So, I attempted to do what I had in the vision. I bunched up all the inner energy inside me than let it loose on that other presence. Struggling to shove it out and using all my might to do so, I had failed to realize that I was making a fuss on the outside of my body, screaming as well as flailing my arms, hands, legs, and feet. I felt something wet fall off my forehead.

Then I sensed something trying to restrain my legs, arms, feet, and hands. Just as soon as I had found the presence it released its hold on me. When it let go my eyes shot open. At first my vision was foggy, blurred. I heard Tiffany’s scared, worried voice

“Ally! Ally? Ally. Are you okay? Can you hear me? Ally you have to wake up, it isn’t real it isn’t real!” the concern in her voice saddened me. What was even worse was that it was all real. The vision and the inner fight the whole thing was real. Julie and Tiffany’s face came into view both faces filled with worry leaning over me.

“I’m ok it is gone now I’m me again just give me minute to gain control of all of my senses.” The voice saying the words coming out of my mouth was raspy and dry.

“Ally do you want something to drink?” Julie asked sweetly. Nodding at her I made good effort to sit up. Tiffany’s hands immediately went up. “Slowly don’t push yourself quite yet take another minute.” Julie came back in with a cup and a pitcher of some mysteriously good looking blue liquid.

“Here you go,” she said handing me the wooden cup filled with the blue drink. I took the cup gratefully and took a long deep sip. It tasted sweet like fresh berries and water.

“Mmm. This is really good, thank you. It is definitely helping me.” I said with a smile happy to have my voice back to normal.

“Ally, what was that all about you really gave me and I’m sure Julie too… a scare. You were like flipping out! Then you said something like everything was going to be fine “it’s” gone. What was “it”? Please explain if you can.” Tiffany looked right into my eyes truly trying to understand my actions.
“Wait a minute I’ve seen this kind of thing happen before… what was it called hmmm…Spiritual control that’s it! It is when some other magical being uses spiritual power to control the emotions and actions of another being. Sometimes they completely change someone’s personality.” Julie seemed excited and surprised as she said this.

“You were fighting to get whatever it was controlling you out of your head weren’t you?” she asked clearly curious to see if she guessed correctly.

“Yes, that was in fact what I was doing; I had sensed it and had to get it out.” I told her.

“Wait whoa hold on there was somebody in Ally’s head?” Tiffany turned to ask Julie.

“Yeah that explains why you haven’t been acting at all like your usual self.” Julie said nodding in agreement to her own thought.

“Oh! So that’s why you’ve been acting so weird. I understand now, but who would want to get in your head? I mean who is strong enough to do something crazy and inhumane like that?”

“I really don’t know.” I whispered pondering over who would want to and why. “How long did I sleep for?” I asked trying to change the subject that was beginning to give me a throbbing headache.

“It seemed a reasonably long time. Why do you ask?” Tiff said inquisitively.

“I had a vision I would like to share with you guys, Can you open your minds and focus on clearing your thoughts, it will make transferring my vision to your minds much easier” I said getting ready to use my power from Spirit to show my vision to them.

“Yes I’m ready.” said Julie closing her eyes and folding her hand in her lap.

“I am too.” said Tiff closing her eyes also.

“Okay here it goes reach out with your minds…….now.” I said focusing on replaying the vision and sending it to their minds. It took some of my regained energy but, I couldn’t verbally explain this vision to them. When it was over I let go of their minds.
“Whoa that was so real looking.” Said Julie “That is why I know that it was a vision and not some creepy nightmare. I think the Spirit is trying desperately to tell me something.

“Is that really how bad Jack has gotten? I’ve seen his bear form before, but it was never that bad…ever.” Tiffany thought aloud.

“He isn’t exactly that far gone yet but he is pretty damn close. Hey did you see that darkness surrounding him? It almost looked like it was radiating from him right? You guys saw that too?” I asked them hoping they saw it.

“We can’t see his heart like you can Ally. Our hearts aren’t bonded by love like yours is to his only you can see it but, from what you’re saying it doesn’t sound good at all.”

“Yeah I know my problem is…I don’t know what to do about it.” I replied gazing out the window wondering just what was waiting for my friends and I....
