W&M: Timothy David Mitchell
Looking at you; grin on your face,
What you hiding now?
You have a way, you have a plan,
Scheme of grand design.
Something you want, life to go right,
Just explain it how,
Then it all falls to part, loosing your hair,
Now life’s not so fine.
What are you going to do?
What are you going to do?
Gonna sue the world for all of its problems?
There’s gotta be someone to blame!
There’s a question I’ve been longing to ask you
and I think maybe now is the time:
What are you going to do?
What are you going to do?
Head in your hands; honest to God,
has it come to this?
Ready to crack if the world delivers
one more final blow.
I read your mind: you’re crying away.
the target you’ve missed.
“What did I do?” “Why must I sink
this God awful low?”
What are you going to do?
What are you going to do?
Gonna sue the world for all of its problems?
There’s gotta be someone to blame!
There’s a question I’ve been longing to ask you
and I think maybe now is the time:
What are you going to do?
What are you going to do?
You thought you had all of the answers
and you had it all worked out today,
But now that your plans are not working,
Get ready ‘cause someone will pay!
You can spend all this time feeling sorry
and depressed and lose all faith in God.
But I know there’s an end to the tunnel,
and like you told me, just keep hanging on.
What are you going to do?
What are you going to do?
What are you going to do?
What are you going to do?
Gonna sue the world for all of its problems?
There’s gotta be someone to blame!
There’s a question I’ve been longing to ask you
and I think maybe now is the time:
Gonna sue the world for all of its problems?
There’s gotta be someone to blame!
There’s a question I’ve been longing to ask you
and I think maybe now is the time:
What are you going to do?
What are you going to do?
What are you going to do?
What are you going to do?

Spoiler
I wrote this song while we were trying to get to our holiday place in Hervy Bay.
This was during the time of the Queensland floods, and our way was blocked trying to get through Gympie. This song was written to my dad who was the driver and getting a bit upset that everything hadn’t worked out the way they were supposed to.
I was writing this in the bar of the car as everything was happening.
The chorus is mean to be a sarcastic rhetorical question to the victims of the Queensland floods - “Things go wrong! What are you gonna do? Sue the world?”
If you would like to hear a preview, just say and I’ll try and make one up.
