Dear Maria (Sketch)

Thank you for pointing out that we can display images on here! I had no idea and now I know that I have a place to feature some of my own art work =]. I really like this sketch and the color is just crazy awesome. I'm not very good with sketches though I paint a lot. I'm currently working on a project with construction paper cutouts. It's black and white on a grey background. I have lyrics from Into The Ocean by Blue October in the background. It's really pretty. But I hope to see more sketches and thanks again for showing me that I can post art on here! Toodles!

Hello there, error! Walker, here, and might I add, its cool when names become the cause of stories. My first novel began because my sister and I sat on my bed and wrote down any names we could think of that sounded cool. This was five years ago, and I only kept two of them xD.

Either way, I will say that I love the etchiness of this piece. It has an almost 'Tim Burton' feel because the hair isn't perfect and the features themselves are a little distorted.

That being said, my only nit-picks really have to do with the anatomical correctness of this piece.

Nit-Picks:

~The right nostril is ill-placed next to the shape you gave her nose. It should be a little in more and a little less durastic. That being said, the nose shape in itself it very long and very straight, which, even on a human figure, would be a little 'too much'.

~The hairline is a bit too high. As you can tell with the way the hair is falling down her face, it would have to originate just a little bit higher up. That being said, she either has a very large forehead or it was just a small mistake made in the drawing process.

~The lips are absolutely goregous, but you appear to have put just the smallest of lines connecting them in the middle. It gives the impression that she has very massive front teeth. The best way to fix that would be to add finer lines throughout for more teeth, if you can find yourself capable of that. If not, just erase that little line and maybe make the lips a tid bit fuller.

~ The neck is oddly shaped. A little too short in the angle you have it. Englongate it, maybe?

And thats it for my nit-picks.

Either way, you gave the girl very lovely shoulders and an interesting, almost blustering bob-cut. She isn't overly 'beautiful' which could be the reason for me liking this piece so much. Anyways, I really do like this and its a gold star from me!
