Startled [Painting]

I painted this one day when I was incredibly bored and figured I'd share it with the world

Duuuuuuude pahaha that looks cool
It really looks interesting. I like the background with all of the different colours in it. The character in the middle of the painting sorta creeps me out O.o but not in a bad way or anything... it just does. Pahaha
I also like the texture you have, what did you paint it on? Because the texture is like you crumpled up tin foil, spread it out, and painted on it. It looks great

awesome work! i love how abstract the character is. it really does give the impression that whoever this is has just been suprised, or startled by something. i also like how the background makes it look like the painting is set at night

To be honest I didn't have any canvas or anything to paint on but I was really in the mood to paint and do shops were open. So, I pulled out the hot glue gun and some paddle pop sticks and made a backing to support it. I then made a PVA and water solution and with a big paintbrush I glue down a whole heap of paper towel, not caring how crumbled it got, and that gave the crumbled effect. (: Once it was dry it was all set.

Okey, this is really good! It reminds me of a simpler Picasso! I love love love the surface you painted it on... is that tinfoil I see in there?

The only little nitpick I have is the background color. It's like a goldbrown... which is good! But but but, it might just be a trick of lighting, the lower left corner is much lighter! It's the same color as the person's face. Which isn't too good, because you want the guy to stand out. So the goldbrown was good but the shading (was that it?) sort of makes it stand out less. Not a lot, just a little. I'm much more picky with art, don't worry

So anyways... this is really good! Not sure if you can redo it cause of the surface you painted it on but... hope you take note of my suggestions!

Gah! I love it. Very nice I want it and it on my wall. I agree with the other reviewer, it is a little cubist but to simple to be put up there with Picasso, sorry. Just doesn't have a pure emotion and ingenuity Picasso has. But it's very very good, Picasso is one of the greatest artists that have ever lived.

Plus: Your texture and color selection was amazing. I like the texture of the background. The use of the sliver and gold is quite nice too.

Minus: The canvas is not square, I'm not even sure this is on canvas but the thing you have painted on has an irregular shape. This is the only issue i have with it.

I like this, it gives me that feel of being in one of those old Mayan caves (or something) and looking at those ancient wall paintings.
Is it just me, or does the guy have a few small yellow freckles on his cheeks? These caught my eye last minute; maybe you could do without them.

You are definitely very creative then haha I think it's really cool that you did all this on a whim.

Hello there.

Wow, I really like this. The texture in the background seems really interesting and keeps the painting alive. great choice of color also. I like how the red pops up beside the 'earthy' colors. His nose bothers me a little bit though. (Is it his nose? :S)
Maybe make it a little bit lighter, so it's not as eye catching... Unless this is part of the piece.

Anyways, I really like it. Great job!

popsicle sticks and paper towels huh? =] I totally have had that feeling before, when you neeeed to paint but have nothing to paint on. But I really like this piece and I'm totally going to have to try the paper towels, the background is ingenious. I like the abstractness of the piece but I do think it needs a little more. Like previous reviewers, it's just too simple to be ranked up there. But you're definitely on to something with this. When I look at it, I imagine the same simple background but with a really complex person standing in the middle. Think on it a little and great work =] I still can't believe the paper towels haha. =]
