Well, it's that time of the year again when some of us crazy poets set ourselves the task of writing 30 poems in just one month! That's a poem a day for thirty whole days!

The event starts on April 1st and the only rule is that you may not write any poetry until then. You can, however, jot down ideas for poems or make a list of themes. Some people like to use one theme for the whole event and have all thirty of their poems revolve around it, but others find it easier to just go with the flow and write whatever comes to mind.

It also doesn't have to be strictly one poem every day. If you're feeling particularly inspired on one day, you might write three or four poems and then not feel up to any the next day and so take that one off. It's entirely up to you!

Who's thinking of participating then? Any questions?

I promised myself I would attempt it this year. We shall see..

I would have risen from the ground.

I may try my hand at it. Not much of a poet, but my creative writing class taught me I'm not [much of] a failure at it either.

Not a poet, but I will more than likely give this a shot. I enjoyed some of what I came up with last year.

Oooh, I'm going to finish this year!

Of course, that's what I said last year and I only completed two poems (both one stanza long).

:D
I am nothing
but a mouthful of 'sorry's, half-hearted
apologies that roll of my tongue, smoothquick, like 'r's
or maybe like pocket candy
that's just a bit too sweet.

I echo the same! Looking forward to the last ten poems of the month when all that comes out is frustrated drivel.

This will be my first year participating and I cannot wait!
