I just got myself a drawing tablet, so I've been trying to get the hang of it. I drew this in artrage, and I don't think it's too bad for a first attempt ^^'
Any tips would be welcome, I'm a complete rookie with digital media, so... help?
EDIT: eep, needed resizing...

WOAH, what program and tablet do you use?! That is amazing! And I just can't fathom that this is a first attempt. I'm new at digital art too, and I'm still having a hard time getting used to the media. I think the colors on this are truly wonderful, and you did a great job shading the dragon. It looks shiny and smooth just like a snake. Two critiques, and these are minor. 1) the dragon's snout gets too dark, and blends in with the background. I started squinting because I thought maybe there was a glare on my screen. I'd either lighten the skin on the dragon there, or lighten the background behind it so that it stands out more. 2) I love how you drew on the individual scales with bright green, and they are very well done, but as they get closer to the head they start looking a little bit more smooshed or something, and don't look as much like the scales on it's neck. They kind of loose that 'u' shape you need. But excellent job, I can't believe this is your first try! Keep drawing. ~blacksheep

I've never used a tablet before but I'll go ahead and say good first try (I'm guessing that's what it is, right?) It does look a bit like a dinosaur, though, rather than a dragon... All I can really say is to just keep playing around with it. heh, this is a bit out of my range XD

Wow, this is great I especially like the eye you have done. Well done!
A hero isn’t defined by winning. Loads of heroes die in the effort. Most of them never get any recognition. No, a hero is just somebody who does the right thing when it would be far, far easier to do nothing.
This is excellent for a first try (much better than my first try last week ). The tablet apparently helps a lot. Aside from what Blacksheep said, I noticed that the highlights on the left side of the dragon are much too sharp. The lighter green scales are also like that. What I suggest is simple. 1) Create the bottom layer of scales. Make large scales in the middle and smaller ones where they curve away from us. 2) Create another layer and make either a gradient for the light, or just paint on light colors. 3) Use a filter on the upper layer and bring down the lighting you did. Alternatively, you could just use burn/lighten to create shadows and highlights. Apologies if you already knew this; I wasn't sure if this was your first try with digital art or just with a tablet. This is pretty much my first go with any kind of digital media, so thanks for the tips. ^^' I don't actually own photoshop though, so I will have to try and translate it into artrage terms, and I don't think the free version supports layers, so I'll have a go at layering when I upgrade to the paid version.
^^ thanks again.

Nice, I know nothing about digital media so my review will be more about composition. You should also take everything i say with a grain of salt, I'm no expert.
Color is a little dark in some places, this isn't bad but it is hard to define the dragon, I actually like the effect makes it look very mysterious. I also suggest brightening the scales, the contrast is good as it is but it could be better. The shadowing in this piece are quite amazing but i believe more definition is needed, not just shadow. The dragon's features are a little blurred, but i believe that is due to the digital media. The green scales are nice but could be toned down in some parts, i like how they are all ready toned down on the shadowed sides.
The eyes is a great focus point! Also the white at the bottom looks a little strange and so does the blue.
but on the whole great work, there are just so many layers. The more i look the better it gets!
Wow. By any standard of art this is amazing, but with you being new at this particular style it's epic. Seriously next time you do somtithing like this you simply must notify me. Seriously, this is amazing.
