CHAPTER 7

“Hello Mariah. Do you recognize me? I’m the doctor. Leia Spring.” My eyes grew big in disbelief. “B-but.. Leia Spring was the young lawyer!” I whispered.

The old lady shook her head, and shone with a little light in my eyes. I squinted and tried to look away from her. “Say aaah.” Reluctantly I repeated her. She nodded and mumbled some things, they sounded like spells. A tear ran over my face. Aedan came closer, and wiped it off. “Hush.. It’ll be alright!” He whispered to me, but I couldn’t believe him. The doctor said I had to rest a lot, but I had slept enough. I jumped out of bed, pushed the old lady aside, and ran out of the room. Outside the room I stopped, listening at the door.

“She seems to be okay, but her eyes are wild.” The old doctor sighed, “She has to start all over again this time..” I did not want to hear anymore. I knew Aedan would be crying. That Daniel would try to comfort him, saying that it never was that bad when we still were children, and.. I stopped dead in my tracks. How did I now? I turned around slowly, eyes wide. This house was driving me mad! I shuddered when I saw a mirror. The reflection.. wasn’t mine. It was someone else. And when I looked more closely I knew who the person was. It was Mariah. Mariah Parker-Starlight. Sister of Daniel Starlight. Daughter of Stephen Starlight and his deceased wife, Amily Starlight-Rose. I screamed. My head hurt so badly.. I fell to my knees, and kept screaming. “No! This is not me! This is not who I am!” Through my tears I saw Aedan running towards me. “Mariah!” He put his arms around me, and it felt comfortable. He stroked my hair, and whispered all kind of nice things to me. “Why don’t you just let me go!” I cried, “I don’t belong here!” Aedans arms tightened around me. “No.. Never say that! Please! Just remember me!” I cried frustrated. There was nothing to remember. Except the short period I had shared with Jason in this house. Why couldn’t this just be a dream? “Mariah! Don’t leave me!” Aedan yelled, voice heavy with emotion. I didn’t listen anymore. A voice whispered through my head. ‘May it be just a dream..’ It said, and I felt everything went blurry.

I would go home! I tried to block everything out, and just think about that one sentence, but when I thought it worked, that I was going back, the witch stood beside me, screaming some curses. I did not understand anything anymore, and I felt myself falling, forgetting everything.

When I woke up I felt memories flow into my mind. Memories of me and Aedan. I couldn’t refuse the thoughts anymore. I was Mariah Starlight, wife of Aedan Parker! I felt a presence next to me. It was Aedan, steady asleep. He was half sitting on a chair, half laying in the bed. I smiled gently at his sleeping form, and kissed his forehead. His eyes fluttered open. I smiled at him. “Good morning, Aedan, dear..” I whispered.

Very good indeed. The plot chance is great and unexpected. Keep up the good work. Some remarks on your sentences

She nodded and mumbled some things, they sounded like spells

She mumbled a few words, which sounded like spells or
She mumbled some words; they sounded like spells.

Outside the room I stopped, listening at the door.

The comma helps but still it reads as if she was listening before and now stopped doing that.
Once out of the room, I turned around and started listening at the door.

Take care and can't wait to read more! Raoden

Nice twist, but I don't get why she'd just give up. If it was me I'd fight until the end but maybe this'll have more meaning later. Great job :)

It kept me hooked. i want to know how this is happening, why, and If she will find out her true identity. Her are a few things i spotted.
Reluctantly I repeated her.

After the word reluctantly, it should have a comma.
That Daniel would try to comfort him, saying that it never was that bad when we still were children, and.. I stopped dead in my tracks. How did I now?

Instead of the word now, it should say know.

Overall, I really liked it and can't wait to read more!
