British Stereotypes

Please note that this isn't a serious thread. I'm not ranting at all, or offending you guys who believe in the the classic British stereotype. I'm just bored, and this is the kind of thing I do in my spare time. You wish you were as cool as me. The British accent. In reality, it's a non-existent accent. It's a complete impossibility to say how many "British accents" there are. I can think of about 20 from the top of my head, and trust me, none of them sound the same. The most stereotyped British accent is the Queen's accent, I'd say, and people with that accent discuss tea and scones, apparently. I loathe tea. It's foul stuff, aye. Think of it like this: saying that everyone in Britain has the Queen's accent is exactly the same as saying that everyone in America has a Tennessee accent. I mean, according to wikipedia, 2% of British people have the Queen's accent. I don't have the Queen's accent. I sound like a six year old with a learning disability. How many of you guys think of this when you think of the accents of people in Britain? Don't get me wrong, there are people in Britain with the stereotyped British accent, but the majority of them sound very different to that. Take me and my Welsh accent. I sound like the most unsophisticated thing with a pulse on this planet. I say don't like dun . For example, I'd say, I dun like tha' instead of I don't like that . Err... I'm so cool. This is a pretty decent example of the variations of British accents. Take note of how different the Geordie accent is, for example, compared to the queen's accent. (Warning: Language much later in the video.) This video just amuses me. It's got a Scouser (Liverpool) accent in it, so it's not completely off topic. So next time you go to say that British people sound like the Queen, and that British people are immensely sophisticated, just search Russell Brand on Youtube... or watch this.

The VT accent pawns all.

The sadness drains through me rather than skating over my skin. It travels through every cell to reach the ground. I filter it yet strangely enough, I keep what was pure and it is the dirt that leaves.
