Fire and Ice

I agree with the post directly above me -- this is a wonderful start to something much, much bigger. I see this not so much as one of those prologues that set up the scene, but the kind of prologue that takes a scene from the later part of the novel to give us a big teaser. So keep going! I would recommend starting this with the human girl, show us her mundane human life then turn it upside down!
