Mostly an experiment with my new tablet. I understand that it's awful, but I hope to improve with practice. Jarlaxle is the guy in the upper left hand corner. He's righteous. I didn't so him justice.

Hey! You wouldn't have happened to be using Flash for that would you? It looks excellent I think. Coming from one animator to another. I'm taking a class in animation currently. Have been since about August last year. To be able to draw so loosely and fluidly like this, I can see you carry some technique! Your character is fantastic. And I really respect the way you added a sort of action pose along with the straight forward pose. That's exactly what people like to see in animators work when they're looking to higher. To be able to show their ability to draw characters comfortably and fluidly and from many different positions. The line quality is great here! I really encourage you to keep up the good work. The more you practice drawing like this the more exceedingly well you will get!

Ah, Jarlaxle. I really need to get back to reading those books, he's a neat character (though, most fan art I've seen of him has made him look /really/ creepy or bright-neon blue, and I can't get those images out of my head at this point x.x).

First Impression:

Not to bad, really. A lot better than what I could do, haha. The art is pretty good, and obviously a sketch style. I think considering you are still learning to use the tablet and getting used to it, you are doing pretty good. I've used those tablets a lot, and I'm *still* not very good with them. I always accidentally jump my cursor and scribble everywhere. ._.

Nit-picks:

Jarlaxle: Not bad, actually really good. The main thing that bothers me is how he is positioned. That really doesn't look like a comfortable position. Knowing Jarlaxle, he's likely about to whip a dagger out and stab someone, but I still think his body looks really awkward and unnatural. His right hand is way too small. It's tiny! Especially compared to the rest of his arm. It looks like it could fit in his mouth, which most hands shouldn't. On that note, to be proportionally correct (though, most art doesn't use proper proportions, so it's up to you whether or not you want to change anything), I would think his mouth would be a bit smaller. He's got one big mouth there.

Body: The main body in the center looks pretty good, actually. The only thing that bothers me there is how stiff and awkward it looks. I understand you were probably just working on the body shape and image and proportions itself, but the stiffness looks strange. I would also suggest you work on the shoulders a bit more and correct the shape on them.

Overall:

Pretty good! As I mentioned earlier, considering you are still learning the tablet, this is good. I'm glad to see you drawing more again. :D Keep up the good work, and I can't wait to see more artwork of yours. Also, are you basing Jarlaxle off any other images, or are you just going from your head/book descriptions? Just curious, really!

Good luck.

Take that, Lumi.
