Curtains up!
What a show!
A girl on stage.
Her feelings out,
For the world to see.
She feels exposed.
He's right in front of her.
He has no idea this play,
Is all for his benefit.
She's going insane.
Her thoughts consumed.
She's crying,
Dying,
All for him.
He is completely oblivious.
Once he knew.
Last spring, she informed him.
She already knew rejection.
Now he thinks nothing her love.
She has known love lost.
But these feelings hold on.
Her cheeks flush,
As he looks at her.
Partners join her.
One by one,
They all leave.
To her horror,
A twisted form of him enters,
Upstage right.
Still, he doesn't know.
It's all in front of him.
Her love and life,
On parade for him.
The audience is focused on him.
Taking bets on his realization.
That's the real show,
How he reacts.
She hopes for the best,
But she expects the worst.
Why would someone so beautiful,
Like him,
Ever love her back.
She cries for her lost love.
