Tell what you think of the previous person's choice, then add your own. My favorite is the opening line from Stephen King's
The Gunslinger
.
"The man in black fled across the desert, and the gunslinger followed."
Just sounds so epic.

I remember reading that opening line in gunslinger. I thought right then and there that this was going to be an awesome novel.....but it was probably his worst one ever.

There are some pretty cool opening lines already here, but my two (current) favourites are
