Medieval Nasal Noises [+ Reading]

Serious poetry and I are currently not on speaking terms; haven't been for a while. Silly poetry and I, on the other had...

I suffer knightly stuffy nose, you see.
It makes sleeping quite the chore
as every night, I must go on a spree
to find some way to ignore
his lack of cleared nasal passageways.

Earnestly would I kneel and pledge praise
eternal to the one who could grant me sleep
uninterrupted by even the slightest peep
of relocating snot in my knight's great schnoz --
maybe a kingdom if you pinpoint the cause
of the nocturnally constant congestion.
As his squire, I could make a suggestion
or three to the appropriate persons
to arrange for the discounted purchase
of substantial portions of land,

if only you would lend me a hand.
This lack of sleep is driving me quite insane,
and his knightly stuffy nose is all to blame.

Hahaha, I think you should stop talking with serious poetry if this is the sort of stuff that you come up with instead. It's quite delightful! It reminds me of children's poet, such as Shel Silverstein, etc. And... um... I'm kind of a sucker for those kinds of poems.

Basically? I liked it.

Heheheh Kyll that was fantastic, and the fact that you put it in dramatic poetry make me love you even more.
The one thing is that I really didn't know was who was narrating. At first I thought it was a knight, and then I thought it was a princess or wife of some sort and then finally understood when you told us near the end. So maybe mention that a little earlier? It's not too big of a deal, but I figured it was worth mentioning.

The other thing is that I really wasn't feeling the flow to this at times, which I actually didn't mind as much as the narrator bit funnily enough. But yeah regardless this was still awesome. *thumbs up*

It reminds me so much of a Shel Silverstien poem, very smart and witty, fun poems like these bring out the happiness in life...keep up the good work!

Haha! Very creative, and hilarious. The slight sarcasm buried in the piece add so much more spice to the humor of the poem! I greatly enjoyed this piece. No grammatical errors to point it- and kudos to going back and editing! Not many people do that anymore (including yours truly). I do hope the knight feels better soon, haha!

If serious poetry just isnt working for you who cares? Comic poems are brilliant and great because they don't even have to make sense haha - I mean look at "The ning nang nong" (good old Spike Milligan), makes no sense but its brilliant. Anyway, I'm going off a bit here haha
I liked this poem but at times I did think the flow and maybe word choice were not quite right. Other than that though, I liked it and I have a major cold at the moment so found it really funny.
