Excellent! Great shots! Glad to see it worked out.
What finally got them for you?

Okay: a LITTLE bit of a critique, though I really don't have much to say other than Congrats.
I think that you could play with the grain a bit more in photoshop, because it's kind of distracting. Also, you could crop the blackness to a square. Square crops generally look really good when you have a centered and circular subject.

Overall, great job and congrats! :)

What do you mean? (don't mean to act to dumb but...) what's the grain? :s
And thanks. I dunno, i just used my other camera, exactly the same, but had a much bigger lense on it. Also, it was morning when i headed out, the sky was actually blue but came out dark blue on my camera, and the moon stud out like a sore thumb. It was HUGE. like... bigger-than-normal-and-amazingly-awesome! I just zipped out my camera ten minutes before i had to go to school. =D Thanks anyway! And i did try to do a square crop but as you can see, it didn't quite work. :s

These photos both look like very nice, clean moon shots, as they are clear and well-exposed, and the craters are quite visible. That said, that's all they are, nice moon shots. They're not amazing, and the subject has been shot many, many times. I'm not saying you were wrong to shoot them, I'm just saying they're not unique.

Now, a few points to make on the composition side of things. First of all, you have a lot of empty black space in your pictures, but that may be unavoidable without negatively affecting the quality. Also, the moon is perfectly centered in both of these shots. They may be more interesting if you used the Rule of Thirds on this picture (if you're not familiar with it, just do a Google search).

Still, the pictures are technically very clean and nice, they're just not incredibly interesting.

I like these. There's a lot of great detail in them. However, the photos themselves aren't all that interesting. I agree that the rule of thirds could be a good way to bring out the best in these and make them a little more eye catching. Also, see how the sky is different shades? That's bugging me a bit. I would prefer a nice solid black.

What kind of camera do you use? I can never get moon shots to work out...
Great job, and keep shooting!

OK, thank you guys, and i know. this was never meant to be amazing or interesting. I posted it for my own pleasure because i've finally managed to take a picture. as boring and yawnable they both might be, i took them because i love the moon, and i like saying it's my own picture. These two are my only proper moon photo's and not blobs of white in the sky.
The sky behind the photo was originally a light blue, but came out dark blue in the photo, and so i made it black. I'm just a beginner, so thanks for the comments and i'm sure they'll help me out on my next moon photo thing. :/
I used a D700 Nikon camera. A massive lense. Not sure which one but... meh.

Very good stuff I really like the simplicity of it. It looks almost perfect doesn't it. I've seen many pictures of the moon but these would probably be my personal favorites because of how amazing the moon looks!!
There's not really much more I can say except Well Done

These are pretty good pictures. I love outer space and the moon so the title drew me in. Although both these pictures look the same. Is it supposed to be like that? How did you get the moon so close and so big in your shots? Thats amazing. Great pictures, great job.
