Spoiler
This poem is based on the short animation film, The Piano

When I play the piano,
I am next to my wife.
When the free music flows,
I relive my life.

My wife, my darling, my love,
Long gone.
Sits next to me and plays;
Her music so strong.

My comrades, my friends,
Departed long ago.
Uphold their damned weapons,
But can I ever let go?

My son, my family, grandchildren,
Still alive.
Pray for my music,
As long as I survive.

My childhood, my past, my memories,
Continue to glow.
As a little child;
Trying to learn the piano.
I'm going to Hagrid's, I've got a good feeling about going to Hagrid's.

A beautiful piece.
The imagery and structure is simplistic yet powerful aswell. It brings across an array of emotion while also bringing forward some flashes of the memories that are being recalled.
I do however, think more detail would work well with this. Just expanding it slightly.
A really well writen piece of poetry. I really loved the ending too.
As a little child;
Trying to learn the piano

I don't know why, I just found this made me smile.
Well done :)

Hi!
Wow, that was wonderful!
I play the piano, myself. And I love it so much!
So title caught my eye immediatly. I love the way you write, very creative and sweet.
I thought you did a really good job and I hope to read more like this from you.
Thank you for posting this!

I really like this. I like how you started in the present and then went back in time. Your rhyming is a bit simple in places but it doesn't sound forced at all and it flows well. I like how you convey emotion through this piece, and I can't really find anything wrong with it, but I hope telling you what I do like is still helpful! Well done.
Matt.

WOW. That was an amazing piece. I don't play the piano myself, but I play an instrument so I can connect to this. This is a great piece and you didn't rush when you wrote it, I can tell. You have a great idea here, and you wrote it very well. Great job!

A nicely put together piece. It does have some emotional elements to it. But I’m a bit confused - is the main character in this piece actually an adult whose wife has died or are they still a child? That’s what got me, but I’m sure it’s not the biggest problem out there.

It’s a good poem and does actually express the true joys of playing the piano. Good work. :)

All I can say after reading this is wow. I play the piano too so I can relate to this poem in a way. Also, you described this really well and everything was playing this in my head as I was reading this. My favorite line was the last one, but the whole thing made me smile. I don't have any corrections because I think it's perfect the way it is. Great work.

Thank you and yes it is from an old man's point of view who's wife had die. If you watch the clip on YouTube the storyline will become more clear.

I think that was when I began to realize that reputation isn't everything. I should focus less about how others perceive me and more about what makes me happy. Because, in the end, I have to live with myself.
