*sighs* I'm in New York, in America, with Peter and Bridget and Cristin soon. I had to come here because the pratie crop failed. Ach, the tales they told in Ireland about America, about streets paved with gold and endless opportunities. 'Tis true that there are many opportunities for work, but they're all dirty jobs fit for pigs. And it's so crowded here. My heart is in Ireland, my grand homeland with miles of green countryside, not filthy city streets.

Probably The Count of Monte Cristo, unabridged version. Death, sex, revenge, drugs, elaborate plots, the French revolution, Persian whores, and conspiracies - does it get any better? - Sam Isaacs

Ach, the country is where my heart is! Green, rolling hills of Erin...my heart just breaks thinking about it! The city is filthy, smelly, and dirty. How I long for the fresh air of my home! But if it's for my family, I can stand anything.

The way the English landlords treat their tenants. It's so unfair! No rights, no fair treatment, it's just all for them. They are the true plague! The worst thing of all is when one of our own kin goes and joins their side. Of course, they see it as getting food for their families. But I see it as plain betrayal.

When Peter told me on the boat that he would always protect me. I was so sure that he would tell me he loved me...and I saw in his eyes that he wanted to, but I don't think he had the courage. But when he did tell me, I don't believe a thousand potato crops could have made me happier!
