My Photography

Yeah. xP I recently got a new digital camera, and I've been taking loads of photos. It's not a DSLR - hahaha, I couldn't ever afford one - but I got a Fujifilm Finepix S1900.


I think this one needs to be a bit darker towards the end, but apart from that, I think it's okay. :3

A lamppost. Yeah.

Please could you tell me what you guys think?

I've never been much of a photographer myself, so ignore this review if you want. Even though these were not taken with the best camera, I love them. On the first picture, I definitely agree that it should be darker, and towards the top right there is quite a bit of glare. Other than this, my first impression was of awe. Now, as for the second, I like it as well, but why are the pages folded? And yes, I have fond memories of the part as well. Now, I like the third, but the fact that the lamppost is tilted is pretty disorienting and really suppresses what I feel could be a very nice picture.

Well, sorry if this wasn't too much help. You are an adroit photographer, I must say.

Congrats on your new camera! Having a DSLR or compact doesn't really make lots of difference; its the girl/guy behind the camera I say! I stuck with my 6.1 MP camera for years xD!
The first photo is of a nice, interesting scene. I like the way the eye is almost guided along the rail tracks. The tones are a little dead, but there's nothing you can do about that Although it does help it feel more desolated! However, next time, maybe get closer to the ground? try a new angle? It'll make it a little bit more interesting
The second photo is a little clichéd, but nice all the same. I love the focusing details on the book - fantastic. The tones are quite lovely too! Little tip for next time, maybe leave the ring out and see how much depth of field you can get with the text? Like, how much is in focus, and out of focus.
The third one is a very basic object, but is quite artistically done. So congrats on that! The focusing is nice, and the yellow really contrasts with the blue of the sky. And the tree adds some nice details. However, it is a lamp after all, so maybe next time, try a similar angle with something more interesting?

Overall:
You have so much talent! You seem to know the ins and outs of your camera already, which is always good! You also don't seem to over-edit/edit at all? Maybe you'd like to download a simple editor until you get into photography, then maybe think about a more professional one like Adobe Lightroom? That's what I did
But yeah, you're good I cannot wait 'til I can see more from you!

SOrry, I don't have much time for a real review. But I always like to check out people's photos when I can.
1: I like this. Although this is sometimes an often used theme, I think you approached it differently because it doesn't just go on, you can see where it curves. And it doesn't look like an often used track, which makes it look really cool. I like the moss gowing on the tracks. Wow, I just used "often used" twice in the last two sentances. I just think the colors are kind of dull.
2: First of all, poor Snape, that part always made me feel sorry for him =( But to the picture, it's alright. The actual picture is amazing when you first look at it. I love the warmth of the color. It makes me feel cozy inside. And I like how the shadow from the ring looks like a heart. But I'm not really getting what the ring has to do with the book. Maybe it's because I've read the book and I... oh I don't know. I always over analyze. Just forget it, okay?
3: Not something you see everyday, But something I could easily see hanging up in some sort of cafe or resteraunt (I know I just spelled that word wrong! <-----)or something along those lines. Interesting. For some reason, I kind of love it ♥

@snails: I use GIMP and Picasa, but I don't like over-editing my photos. My photo should be the focus of the art, not the editing done to it. And thank you! My mum's a professional photographer, so I owe a lot of it to her, to be honest.

@Leah: Thanks for reviewing! I do agree that the tones in the first are very dull, and I fully plan to go back out and walk across the tracks later this spring, maybe early summer. Hopefully the world will be a lot brighter then.

Let's see, i really like the first one. It actually looks nice as it gets lighter further and further away. i see nothing wrong with it, i really like it!

The second one is definitely my favourite! I've seen so many pictures like this with open books, but this one is certainly much more creative. The ring blends well with the parchment, and what's even better is that i see a bit of Lilly and Snape love going on there, and the heart the ring makes on the shadow is appropriate in every way. I love it! Well done!

I don't like the last one too much, the colours are terrible and i don't like how you've focused on the closest thing to us. I can't really say much about it, just that it's really not that great. If you get me? Sorry...

Overall, i think your photography skills are amazing.

I really want to review these, but I just can't... 'cos they're really good
The only thing I have to say is that I wouldn't have been able to tell that the last picture was a lampost, if you hadn't have said.
And, yep, the first picture could be a little bit darker near the back; but it still looks good the way it is - kind of like, Light at the end of a dark tunnel... A really good, mysterious, happy effect!
But yep, well done! Xx

@Mystical: Personally, the last one is my favourite, but I suppose it depends on what you like I think the first needs a little editing - I'm going to do that when I get back onto my beautiful desktop and not on my dad's laptop. xP But thanks for the review!
