To My Best Friend
Often I’ve wondered what are you to me,
And now the answer I want you to see.
Its like living in a world without sunshine,
‘Cause you are not here to calm me when I whine.
Whenever I was a little or more blanch,
You filled my life with happiness as much as an avalanche.
You were there when I needed you beside,
Always helping me to properly decide.
You never Left me alone or weepy,
Even if my talks made you bored and sleepy.
You were unique and one of kind,
And now also you keep strolling into my mind.
You have a place no one can reach,
We spoke continuously when our teacher used to teach.
The moments we shared, the way for me you cared,
Will always be in my mind beared.
People may think this is just to say,
But let me assure you words are always true, my way.
Weather I go to Atlantic, so cold,
Or to Africa to brave the heat bold.
Now as I look back into the time,
How so often we used to pluck unripe lime.
While I live here,
I have to tread with care.
So many pains I have to suffer,
To avoid a life full of blunder.
Though here I have a number of friends,
But unlike me, their lives are empty of bends.
From you though I had a number of trials,
But never did I face a betrayal.
That is why my best friend you are,
Without whom my life would be like a driver without car.
That is why you are my true friend,
Who will not leave me even after the world ends.
So here I have my story finished,
When all my fears and worries have perished.
Harshita Chaarag.
