Eyes have fooled the heart before
with many curious glances;
the glances lead to hearts in mouths
and flaming fast romances.

So quick’s the eye to register
a beauty ‘midst the clamor,
so quick’s the heart to tell the tale
of that succulent, sweet ardor.

Sugared tongues will tempt and tease
with words so filled with passion,
and fevered eyes and trembling hearts
will know no rules or reason.

But oh, so swift the fire starts,
so quick to be extinguished;
another glance, a flaw is seen
and there—the blaze is vanished.
All that I'm after is a life full of laughter, as long as I'm laughing with you.:)

Wow, I loved this piece of poetry.
The structure was well done and it kept me reading and didnt let my mind wander.
You used detail well and I felt like I was watching a story unfold.
Overall a strong piece of emotionly work. Also I can relate to what is said.
Well done!

Eyes have fooled the heart before
with many curious glances;
the glances lead to hearts in mouths a bit choppy
and flaming fast romances. Nice intro

So quick’s the eye to register
a beauty ‘midst the clamor,
so quick’s the heart to tell the tale
of that succulent, sweet ardor. ardor doesn't rhyme

Sugared tongues will tempt and tease
with words so filled with passion,
and fevered eyes and trembling hearts
will know no rules or reason. passion and reason don't rhyme either

But oh, so swift the fire starts,
so quick to be extinguished;
another glance, a flaw is seen
and there—the blaze is vanished. great ending

I tell the neophyte: Write a million words–the absolute best you can write, then throw it all away and bravely turn your back on what you have written. At that point, you’re ready to begin.
