Spoiler
This is a really short post because the next one's really long. These aren't so much chapters as blog posts... hence the title of the work.

Wow, it has been like a year since my last post of this. Time really isn’t a fixed construct for a ghost! Raf moved up to the Main Campus as a student. I really miss him. Even though I am pretty certain that he is lying to me about being a good demon, I know that I really like him. Even if he is a bad demon he’s good company. If I were still alive I’m sure that I’d be in love with him. I am not sure ghosts can even fall in love. Billy Bob’s pretty devoid of emotion, so he couldn’t really help me. Preacher Man does love people, but in a general sense, which is how he was in real life. He assured me that, being from the time period he came from he did have prejudices, just like the dead soldiers, but now he sees only people. He isn’t sure if ghosts can fall in love. I know that ghosts who die in love remain in love. He told me that if a ghost could fall in love it’d probably be much harder than it would be for a normal living person.

I do know that I love Billy Bob; though in a friendly kind of way. It could be in another way though. I died before I ever had a boyfriend, or a really important crush. I don’t really know what attraction love is supposed to feel like. I understand love for family, love for friends, and even love for people in general (because of Preacher Man anyway). I am just not sure about being in love. I will tell you what, being a ghost isn’t any easier than being alive.

Anyway, the year, which basically feels like a week to me at this point, has been pretty slow. I am fairly certain that life continues to be as mundane as it was while I was alive. The library has bought new books and cycled old ones out, but not before Billy Bob and I thoroughly read each one on the recycling list. Yes, they did need to be tossed, they were truly outdated. I started attending classes this year.

It is really all Raf’s fault! He knew that I was bummed that he was leaving again, because he plans to come back as a staff member, so he can’t just die and come back, or create a vessel where he will just have to do four years of high school and then be back again! No! He wants to be a teacher, a professor of world religions! Can you believe it? Well, anyway, he told me that I should attend classes, because it would help pass the time.

The truth is that he was right (though I’d never willingly tell him that). I’ve read almost all the books in the library, and even though they are always getting new things, it doesn’t take too long before I’ve finished what they just got in. Going to classes breaks up the monotony of it all. Also, learning (remembering?) how living people think is awesome. From what I can tell conventional thinking is about the same, with only a few minor (to my mind) changes. There is a greater emphasis on evolution, changing, and revolution, but I think these themes show up every so often. It is kind of cool though!

I can take classes from 8 in the morning until 5 in the evening, and have no problems. Ghosts don’t need to study for exams, and we don’t need to sleep or eat (nor could we if we really wanted to). Anywho, Billy Bob used to berate me for going to learn from The Livings (which was really fairly stupid, since a lot of the books that come in are from living people!), but now he is joining me! I dragged him to one class, and I got him hooked. We’ve already looked up the classes for next semester, and we are debating which classes we should take.

I know that eventually the classes will start to repeat themselves, and we will probably get bored, but for now it is really very awesome. Also, the classes will be taught differently each year, and by each teacher. Yes, the subjects may be the same, but it will probably feel like rereading a beloved book, or so we hope.

Besides that, this year has been pretty slow. Hamlet keeps watching me whenever I go by, and the Ghost Dwelling Demons still give me the creeps. I’ve started to visit my brother every other weekend. He is trying to get me to come to Main Campus for a year. He can tell I really miss Raf, which is totally true, and he is trying to get me by telling me that Main Campus offers some totally different classes. It is really hard to resist!

I do miss Raf, I see him whenever I go to see my brother. Raf’s playing for the soccer team, and is very skilled (of course, he is a demon after all. He might as well be Superman!). I do miss Raf. Anyway, I know you are not interested in this, so I am going to say adieu. I will try to post a new response sooner than I did with this one. I promise that it will not take me a year this time!

(I am going to remember to review this, I am going to remember to review this, I am going to remember to review this...) Hey! I remembered. (Finally... >.>)

Anywho, let me just get on with it.

This is a lot shorter than the first one. Which is understandable, since this is covering one year, not a hundred, but it's a little off. I'd suggest reconstructing these. Spacing them out. Little ones, each dealing with one or two subjects, then it ends, then a new one. As I said before, we don't need to know everything at once. We don't want info dumps.

Also, we want motivation and reasons. How/why did she suddenly remember her blog? And why does she cover what she does and why does she do it how she does? People react to what they see recently (and yeah, her span would be larger, but I'm assuming there's an action/reaction thing inside her too). I mean, someone who got their heart broken would write about that. Then if they're feeling better thanks to a friend, they'd write about that, and how they feel, and so on and so forth. You write about how she thinks she could have loved Raf. Why? We've heard about him, but we want to see him. With Billy Bob, we see his love of learning and his thirst for knowledge from the way he loves books and classes. Well, give us real examples of Raf, of his life, and of his interaction with Katie. And you also write about her view on a ghost's love, but what caused her to write this? What brought it up in her mind?

My last major point is, what's happening? I know this is a blog, but the point of a blog isn't to relay things that have mindlessly happened. People talk about what's going on in their life now and how it's affecting them, and they don't know what's to come and they write about their cluelessness (sometimes) and my point is, what's going on in Katie's life that we should care about? We're not going to follow a monotonous life forever; we just aren't patient enough for that. We want action. We want motion. We want results. I don't know what you have in store for us, but if we aren't hooked we're not going to hang around and find out. Right now, it sounds like an autobiography being added upon each year, with nothing really happening, and everything's already resolved and there's no conflict, and the life's not really all that special either, anyway, so why are we reading it?

Okay, I know I sound cruel. I know I sound like I'm bashing your novel. Really, I'm not. I'm trying to help it. This has a lot of potential, but we're so distant from the story. We can't imagine it happening to us because we don't have details of day to day things, or of certain events, or of her feelings towards things. I want this to get good and get great.

If you have any questions about this, want another review, or even just want to yell at me about my harshness, PM me.
