60-second writing challenge...probably my first-ever love poem...

I would tell you if I could -
But now a rose just ain’t so sweet.
I would tell you this is love,
But it’s been said before, by those better than me.

Should we wish upon a star
Or has it all been done too many times before?
Should I not look in your eyes,
Since it’s been seen so many times?

Well I’ll tell you like it is, I guess -
I love you, I think, but I just hate the way
I’m out of words to tell you…
Love. It’s all nothing but cliché.

But I’ll tell you anyway.

Howdy, StoryWeaver!

As far as problems go with this poem, I've got maybe one or two:

Or has it all been done too many times before?
I didn't like the wording of this. It just seemed a little choked up for some reason.

But it’s been said before, by those better than me.
The way you have this line sounding rhythm wise made me think you just forgot to split the lines.

As far as a poem being written really quickly goes, this was done pretty well. I'm even more impressed by the fact that you named it "Love's Cliche" given the fact that it is a bit of a cliche. Not saying you really wrote it as a cliche, but the subject is still kind of used and abused.
I'm striving to be the Architect of the Apocalypse, Master of the Massacre, Ruler of the Rapture, and the Führer of the Fatal.

"It is the tale, not he who tells it." --Stephen King

Take THAT, society!

Hello there :)

I just adore romantic poems, especially when they are well written such as this one. Your approach was really creative and charming, it just took the words out of my mouth. Although I'm really impressed, I was a little disappointed by this line:
It’s all nothing but overworked cliché.
I'm a little unsure about it. It just threw away the flow and it sounded "cliché" in itself.
Good job anyhow, this was impressive.
Keep writing and good luck

I would tell you if I could -
But now a rose just ain’t so sweet.
I would tell you this is love,
But it’s been said before, by those better than me. (I think saying 'by others better than me' would sound better)

Should we wish upon a star
Or has it all been done too many times before?
Should I not look in your eyes,
Since it’s been seen so many times?

Well I’ll tell you like it is, I guess -
I love you, I think, but I just hate the way (That confused me a little. At first, I asked: The way, what?)
I’m out of words to tell you… (The three periods are unnecessary)
Love. It’s all nothing but overworked cliché.

But I’ll tell you anyway.

Hm... The idea of the poem was good, but the wording wasn't perfect and it wasn't quiet emotional. Maybe that's because it's short, I'm not sure. Try to make your sentences a little more literary and expressive of pain or love, or whatever the emotion you wish to deliver to us.
I'm back to my YWS after months of disappearance, hoping that I'd gain the immunity of books and quills against the harmful realism of our world.

In case this made no sense, I'm just saying that I'm happy I'm back!

Overall, good job.
Grammar is in red.
Other is in blue.

I would tell you if I could -
But now a rose just ain’t so sweet.
I would tell you (that?)this is love,
but it’s been said before, by those better than me.

Should we wish upon a star?
( if it is all one sentence, then this doesn't need to be capitalized- and disregard the first question mark)or has it all been done too many times before?
Should I not look (into?) your eyes,
since it’s been seen so many times?

Well, I’ll tell you like it is, I guess -
I love you, I think, but I just hate the way
I’m out of words to tell you…
-This part is good, but you hesitate too much. Saying i guess, and an think just seems a little redundant. You could say, " I think I love you.." or something different, and it has the same affect, but smoother.
Love. It’s all nothing but overworked cliché.- That seems redundant, also.Don't really need the overworked part.

But I’ll tell you anyway.

Great job, really deep. Just a few errors to clear up, though.
