Hiya! =D

Well, hello there! I'm a newbie to this site! I stumbled upon YWS while going through some forums on writing on another site I regularly visit and thought it would be awesome to join! So, this is me saying hi!

I've been writing for many years, but I don't write poetry or anything similar (I'm awful at things like that!) just short stories and whatnot!

From another writing site, you say? Same goes for me. I'm still an active member at the other site, but YWS has captured me. It's an awesome little site, YWS. Minus the little part.

YWS basics:

1) Mods are in green, Nate and the other users with red names are the top dog admins--all of them are incredibly wonderful.

2) Posting work requires a 100 points, the equivalent of 2 good-sized reviews (you get points for reviewing works, and the meatiness of the review determines how many points you get for it)

3) Pretty much anyone will be willing to answer any questions, myself included. But there's also a very handy FAQ section for new members somewhere around here.

But anyway, again, welcome welcome welcome!

I'm LavenderBlue, but most here call me Lav. Or Lavvi. Or whatever other nickname they manage to stick to me.

There are many great things about YWS, and I'm sure you will catch on quickly like I did. Under 'Discover Works' is a forum listing different genres of poetry and writing (which also includes Non-Fiction, by the way). There a Writing Tips if ever you need help from other than reviewers and the same goes for poetry. YWS also expands in other directions: we have Storybooks (which most call SBs) which are pretty much RPGs in written form. Then, there are contests held by other members, Information forums, blogs, clubs etc. I suggest you go explore

Also, don't forget to review as well! Everybody here loves being reviewed, but you also have to pitch in as well. And hey, who knows, you could get a badge for it sometime later on!

Hello!

My name is Taylor and I'm now your official best friend/guide of this site! Hooray! Hoorah!

First of all, YWS is this (magical) place where you can just be yourself, post your works, chat with awesome people all around the world, make tons of friends, and grow as a reader/writer. Sounds cheesy, I know, but I think you'll love it here!

If you need any help AT ALL about YWS or really anything, or if you just want to chat, feel free to PM me or write on my wall. (Done by clicking on my name, "Ilovebubbles123", and either writing in the box that appears in the middle of my page or clicking the "Send private message" link in blue under my picture)

You don't HAVE to post stories and work here, but that's really what the site's for and everyone here loves everyone else's work, so why not? To post work, click on the 'submit' button and follow the directions.

If I'm not online or for any other reason, make sure to go to the YWS chat... which is basically chatting live with YWS'ers around the world. To get there, go to the YWS homepage and scroll down until you see the "Enter YWS chat room" button and click on that). One...warning... YWS'ers are very enthusiastic about new members. When you go into chat and say you're new, you will either be greeted by a dead chat (happens occasionally) or a billion people pouncing over each other to meet you.

(Another note- YWS'ers are extriemely sarcastic and we often talk about hurting each other in good fun. Just roll with it XD)
